📅 - Ericsson Allies With Amazon Web Services (AWS) for Telecoms - Both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Ericsson have announced this morning that they have struck a deal that allows Ericsson to give its telecom operator customers access to public cloud services. Ericsson is the industry leader in mobile network gear. Amazon Web Services is the leader in cloud computing.
The first customer under the new deal will be Telstra, the Australian telecommunications operator. Ericsson's strategy is to push telecom service providers to bring in cloud services rather than relying on internal operations to sustain them. The cloud makes them more efficient and faster.

📅 - Equinix Believes the Cloud will Allow it to Reach New Customers - Equinix has started providing data centers for large cloud providers, which they believe have helped them reach new customers. IBM, Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle and Amazon are now in 17 different markets across the globe with Equinix data centers.
Equinix is a colocation provider and has started knocking on the doors of enterprise IT execs it hasn't been able to go after in the past. As the company looks for ways to leverage cloud services, they hope to attract these new clients to their data centers. .
The IaaS offering complies with the government's federal security standards by the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, or “FedRAMP”. The new service is known as CenturyLink Government Cloud.
