Ericsson Allies With Amazon Web Services (AWS) for Telecoms
📅 - Both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Ericsson have announced this morning that they have struck a deal that allows Ericsson to give its telecom operator customers access to public cloud services. Ericsson is the industry leader in mobile network gear. Amazon Web Services is the leader in cloud computing.
The first customer under the new deal will be Telstra, the Australian telecommunications operator. Ericsson's strategy is to push telecom service providers to bring in cloud services rather than relying on internal operations to sustain them. The cloud makes them more efficient and faster.
No financial terms have been disclosed at this time. Check back for updates.
