Dec, 2015 : Java Vulnerability Case Settled by Oracle

📅 - Oracle decided recently to settle with the FTC over charges including deceiving the public when it comes to the security of the Java SE updates. The proposed settlement would provide Oracle users with the ability to uninstall older versions of Java SE, which are used by more than 850 million computers.

The FTC believes Oracle was aware of the vulnerabilities of Java when they purchased it in 2010. Oracle will have to notify customers during the process of updating, per the settlement, and will need to provide an option for uninstalling the older versions of Java SE.
