Xomcom, a web hosting and domain registration firm, yesterday announced that it has introduced unlimited shared hosting plans and slashed prices on its dedicated servers, VPS plans, semi-dedicated plans, and shared hosting plans, with immediate effect.

The company states that it now offers four shared web hosting plans that range in price from $2.95 per month to $9.95 per month. Prices on shared hosting plans have been reduced by an average of 20%. The newly introduced Starter hosting plan is the lowest-priced shared hosting plan it has ever offered. Pricing on semi-dedicated hosting plans, VPS hosting plans and dedicated servers have been slashed by an average of 15%. VPS plans now start at $15.95 per month, semi-dedicated hosting plans now start at $50.95 per month, and dedicated servers now start at $150.95 per month.

It further states that in addition to new pricing, the company has also rolled out unlimited disk space and unlimited traffic across its shared hosting plans. This means there are now no limits on the amount of disk space and bandwidth shared hosting customers may use. The unlimited features apply to the company's newest shared hosting plan, Starter, as well as the existing plans.

"We are looking at our users in the aggregate," stated Xomcom President Daniel J. Briere. "A well-balanced user base on a cluster like ours does not put an undue strain on the hosting network, even when unlimited features are offered. We have seen a number of large, well-known hosting providers adopt this strategy, and after much thought and planning we decided to also offer unlimited web hosting packages to our customers."
