The company says that a total additional 5,000 square feet of net sellable space will provide Houston colocation customers with a modern, secure and weather-resistant facility for hosting business-critical data and applications.
It states that the Houston data center is fully operated and staffed by the company, with 24/7 technical support and extensive physical and data security. The facility uses equipment, including fully redundant power and cooling systems. Green data center best practices are applied to minimize energy consumption and environmental impact. It also complies with stringent SAS 70 Type II practices, consistent with its other company-controlled data centers.
The company further states that with a strategic location in downtown Houston, the facility offers weather resistance, including a 200 mile-per-hour wind rating, as well as redundant generators and on-site fuel supplies. This type of rugged reliability and redundancy is important for maintaining operations during hurricane season and in other cases of severe weather.
