Aug 3, 2010 : 4PSA Launches VoipNow 2.5
📅 - Latest version introduces features to help service providers offer the optimal cloud service, automate operations and expand their business.
4PSA, a software vendor specialized in applications that run on computer clouds, today announced the availability of a major update to its cloud computing unified communications software suite, VoipNow. The company says that this latest version introduces over 30 significant features to help service providers offer the optimal cloud service, automate operations and rapidly expand their business. It articulates that VoipNow is a software suite designed to simplify the deployment of unified communications services in the cloud. The suite includes Professional, Automation and Core, three separate components that allow service providers to automate the delivery of a wide range of IP communication services.
It explains that CallAPI service available in VoipNow 2.5 enables developers to integrate and add telephony functions to any software application. CallAPI is a REST based cloud service that starts calls, answers calls, puts calls on hold, parks/unparks existing calls, starts conferences, records calls, and much more. It also provides an innovative method to control the behavior of the IVRs in real-time from remote software. End-users can use CallAPI to connect telephony services to business solutions like Customer Support, CRMs, Ecommerce or other resources. CallAPI supports OAuth authentication allowing third party applications to connect securely to the system.
The company avers that with the new OpenID authentication, users can link their VoipNow account to any OpenID provider such as Google, Yahoo, WordPress, LiveJournal etc. and log in to the system using a single set of credentials. It adds that service providers can also implement the OpenID protocol on-premises to improve the customers' experience when dealing with multiple cloud services.
It further explains that also included in VoipNow 2.5, there is a call statistics area that can be used to capture and report information about important telephony parameters like ASR, ACD, call failure causes, call distribution etc. These new call statistics improve troubleshooting and provide a quick view on system activities for management. Improvements to the conferencing functions make these services easily accessible to end-users. Call centers will benefit from the browser based agents' administration and the ability to have agents in the public telephone network using regular phones.
The company mentions that existing customers with a valid update subscription can upgrade to VoipNow 2.5 for free in minutes. The new version is also shipped with easy to use images for VMware, Parallels Virtuozzo or Amazon Cloud.
"With the release of VoipNow 2.5 we have raised the bar on functionality, cloud integration, accessibility and performance, which simplified the life for service providers. The added array of improvements that made unified communications more comprehensive and at the same time easier to use will allow our partners to faster migrate customers to the cloud," said Bogdan Carstoiu, 4PSA's CEO.
"Automation is of key importance to service providers because it allows their business to scale and better serve their customers. 4PSA is introducing a number of new features that make it possible to build, sell and provision service bundles, to create add-ons for existing service plans, and automatically process recharges on prepaid billing. Many enhancements to the end-user customer portal have been made to give customers more control over their cloud subscriptions," added Carstoiu.
