Jan 25, 2007 : acens Acquired by Nazca Capital

📅 January 25, 2007 - Web hosting provider acens Technologies (acens.com) announced on Thursday that private equity firm Nazca Capital (nazca.es) has bought a major stake in the Spanish hosting company. Acens says the deal estimates the total value of the company at $52 million or €40 million.


Acens Technologies says it has been a leading hosting provider in the Spanish market, since its inception in 1997 and is mainly focused on offering value-added services such as redundant shared hosting and mail, hosted MS Exchange and managed dedicated solutions to a customer base of more than 20,000 people.

The hosting provider operates two data centers in Madrid and Barcelona, Spain and has two additional sales offices in Valencia and Málaga. The turnover of the company totaled €14.5 million or $18.8 million in 2006.

The buyer, Nazca Capital, is a private equity firm in Spain specialized in acquiring medium sized businesses. It is a member of the Fortis private equity group and has made investments in excess of €300 million in the last five years.
