Mar, 2009 : Equinix to Give Virtual Data Center Tour

📅 March 4, 2009 - Data center operator Equinix (equinix.com) announced on Wednesday that it will present a virtual tour of its International Business Exchange data centers at the upcoming data center conference Data Center World (datacenterworld.com).

Hosted by AFCOM (afcom.com), Data Center World is an industry networking and educational conference. This year's event will be held in Las Vegas on March 8 through 12.

Patrick Leonard, senior manager of strategic initiatives at Equinix, will present the session titled, "Science Fiction? James Bond Would Be Proud of These Data Centers," at the Paris Hotel on March 8 from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m.

The presentation will provide an overview, complete with graphics, of Equinix's data centers, delving into the best practices and the latest trends in data center design, security, site selection, power and cooling.

In addition to presenting, Equinix will also be exhibiting in the Paris Ballroom.The conference organizers select from among the most diverse data centers in the world to provide virtual data center tours, which feature some of the "most innovative initiatives in the industry," according to the press release.

Those conference attendees who are looking to partipate in the virtual data center tours will be charged $150. Free media passes are also available.

AFCOM is an association for data center professionals that offersservices to help support the management of data centers around the world.Members receive access to annual conferences, published magazines, research and hotline services and industry alliances.

Equinix operates 42 International Business Exchange data centers across 18 markets in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

The company offers video tours of the data centers on its website.
