Feb, 2009 : Cavalier Launches Fiber Network Division
📅 - Eastern US telecommunications provider Cavalier Telephone (cavtel.com) has launched an independent fiber-optic network division to serve growing enterprise, wholesale and government markets.
New wholly-owned Cavalier subsidiary Intellifiber Networks (intellifiber.com) is starting out with more than 16,000 miles of fiber optic network across the US, which it owns and operates, according to its parent company's announcement this week. Intellifiber Networks intends to break from the pack by bring a new level of customer service and a more complete line of products to its growing list of customers.
With nearly two decades of executive experience in the Internet and telecom industry, Clint Heiden is the new president of Intellifiber Networks, where he will lead the organization with an entrepreneurial approach, according to Cavalier.
"With more than $1 billion invested in our fiber network, we see a great opportunity to bring together management experience and infrastructure with a fresh and innovative approach to service," Heiden said in a statement. "Even in this tough economic climate, data-heavy applications and communications devices are driving bandwidth demand, and it is our firm belief that old-school network service models won't work anymore. Intellifiber's mission is to optimize customers' budgets, deliver service excellence and ensure satisfaction above and beyond expectations."
Intellifiber Networks sells, installs and maintains high-capacity services for hundreds of enterprise businesses, cable, Internet, wireless, international and regional service providers, as well as federal and state government agencies. Intellifiber's current product suite includes private networks, SONET, wavelength, Ethernet, data and voice.
