📅 February 19, 2009 - Through an exclusive partnership with virtualization software provider Parallels (parallels.com), virtual private server hosting provider KickAssVPS.com (kickassvps.com -> liquidweb.com) has deployed the industry's first publicly available beta VPS offering powered by Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.5.

According to KickAssVPS.com's Thursday announcement, Server 2008 users can take advantage of a number upgrades including enhanced integration with Internet Information Services 7.0, Microsoft's (microsoft.com) latest web server release. The new VPS also features more efficient management using the new Server Management suite, and increased operating system and network stack security.

As well, Server 2008 is the most recent available iteration of Microsoft's server platform, and KickAssVPS.com is able to offer it as a special beta program to its VPS customers using Parallels' latest Virtuozzo Containers virtualization software, available to KickAssVPS.com as part of its Parallels Gold Partnership.
