Oct 29, 2008 : UAE Firm Offers Managed Services
📅 - According to the company's recent announcement, Alpha Data is currently providing proactive IT managed services for more than 500 PCs, laptops and servers across its customer base and through Kaseya's solution has reduced visits to client sites by 85 percent.
Alpha Data also expects to grow its managed services customer base by as much as 50 percent in the next six months.
"Kaseya has been central to enabling Alpha Data to lead the emerging managed services market in the United Arab Emirates; Dubai is a growing economy and many companies are starting up businesses in this region," says Venkitachalam R., service manager at Alpha Data. "However, these companies need an IT service provider who can effectively manage their IT infrastructure, identifying or pre-empting potential issues before they become a problem, so they can focus on their core business."
Kaseya says its platform "ensures Alpha Data can take advantage of the changing market dynamics in the UAE and meet growing demand from small to medium-sized businesses for ongoing, proactive IT services."
Some of the key features in Kaseya's solutions include fully automated patch management; comprehensive scripting for scheduling and automating tasks; automated, recurring and complete hardware inventory and software inventory and audits; system monitoring; secure remote control and integrated management reporting.
Founded in 1981, Alpha Data says it's one of the largest ICT companies in the UAE with over 600 employees and specializes in intelligent cabling systems, networks and telecom, enterprise computing systems and audio/visual solutions.
Although web hosting or data center related news isn't something we come across to often from the UAE, last week the WHIR reported on Fujitsu Siemens Computers' Dynamic Data Centre Forum, an event where local companies could further discuss the merits and suitability of more sustainable, environmentally-friendly IT systems for the Middle East region.
