Oct 15, 2008 : CI Host Leases Data/Office Space

📅 October 15, 2008 - Web hosting provider CI Host (cihost.com -> hostinger.com) has leased 60,156 square feet in Dallas for a new corporate office and data center space from real estate broker Colliers International (colliersmn.com).

According to a report published in The Dallas Morning News Wednesday, CI Host chose the location for its proximity to the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and the nearby commercial space available.

CI Host currently operates another Texas data center in Bedford, Texas, close to its headquarters in Irving, also a Dallas suburb. CI Host also operates data centers in Los Angeles and Chicago.

Dallas-Fort Worth's central location and abundance of affordable real estate are a few of the reasons it is one of the country's largest warehousing and distribution centers. A study by the University of North Texas' Terrance Pohlen, distributed by Colliers International, stated that its rail networks are a major attraction for warehousing and distribution centers. With fiber-optic cable now running along these rail lines, it stands to reason that this long-time logistics hub would become a major data center location.

The over 60,000 square foot increase in CI Host's footprint is a major expansion for the 13-year-old company. In August, CI Host co-founder Erin Bullock re-joined the company as executive director of business development.
