Sep 5, 2008 : DataChambers Expands NC Facility
📅 - IT solutions firm DataChambers (datachambers.com) announced on Wednesday it is significantly expanding the infrastructure that supports the company's Winston-Salem, North Carolina data center.
The company says it has signed 22 contracts for outsourced information technology services with companies spanning various industry sectors in the first half of 2008 alone.
Located 18 feet underground in a blast-resistant building, the company's current data center houses dozens of systems for customers from across the nation.
The expansion, which is expected to cost over $600,000, will increase the available floor space by 25 percent, while upgrading the redundant power, air conditioning, fire suppression and security systems protecting the facility.
"We've found that companies are looking for service providers who can act as an extension of their own information technology team and help them get more out of their limited budget dollars," says Nicholas Kottyan, CEO of DataChambers. "Our clients get a level of support that would be virtually impossible for them to replicate on their own, while freeing them to concentrate on the things they do best."
The company has already begun working the project and anticipates its completion within the next 60 days.
This marks the second major expansion initiative for DataChambers this year, following the March opening of its 85,000-square-foot facility at Ridge Creek Business Park in Charlotte, North Carolina.
DataChambers meets the demand of small and medium businesses for stable, secure, long-range information management and business continuity capabilities.
The company offers electronic data storage, network and monitoring solutions, managed information technology solutions, colocation services, secure tape vaulting, and offsite records storage and management.
