Dec 3, 2007 : NET Telcos Opens New Data Center

📅 December 3, 2007 - Managed hosting provider NET Telcos (nettelcos.com) announced on Monday that it has signed an agreement to open a new data center space for the Hampton Roads market.


The company currently runs a facility in Glen Allen, Virginia and says its newest facility, which offers 20,000 square feet of raised floor space, is in Chesapeake, VA. NET Telcos' first customer in the new data center is open source enterprise software provider Concursive.

"This facility is ISO 9001 compliant, has an around-the-clock network operations center with global monitoring capabilities and has a robust network configuration based around dual self-healing OC-12 fiber optic SONET rings," says Scott Rodgers, general manager at NET Telcos. "It has over 170 tons of redundant computer room HVAC units, a highly redundant electric power configuration, and a state-of-the-art FM 200 gas based fire suppression system. It is the finest facility of its kind in Southeastern Virginia, bar none."

NET Telcos is a subsidiary of Continental Broadband and offers managed hosting and storage solutions, colocation, business continuity solutions for outages or interruptions, Internet access and managed wide-area-network connections.
