SunGard Unveils 100,000 Square-Foot Managed Hosting Center
📅 - IT solutions company SunGard Data Systems Inc. (sungard.com) today unveiled its newest data center, a 100,00 square-foot facility located in Philadelphia.
The new center has been designed to provide hosting infrastructure services, transport infrastructure, and high bandwidth networking services for companies throughout North America. The opening was attended by a number of notable guests, including U.S. Congressman Curt Weldon. "More people need more access to more information more quickly than ever before," said Jim Simmons, SunGard's CEO. "[SunGard's] new, state-of-the-art e-sourcing center... is one of the most comprehensive managed hosting facilities in the country."

📅 - TELUS To Pay $77 Million For PSINET's Canadian Operations - Troubled American ISP PSINet announces today that it would sell its Canadian operations to Calgary-based TELUS for $77 million (US). The Canadian telecom had entered in to an agreement with PSINet to purchase all of the company's Canada-based assets and businesses earlier this month. However, details of the deal, including sale price, were not released at the time.
