Group Seeks Injunction To Block Racist Hosting Company From Reaching France

📅 June 22, 2001 - A French anti-racism group is asking for an injunction to block users based in France from accessing a "white power" Web site offering hosting-related services.

The site, titled Front 14, "offers free Web hosting and email exclusively to Racialists," according to the site.
The company lists hundreds of Web sites using the services of Front 14, including "White Racialist Women of Illinois", "Heil Hitler", and also provide mirroring services for a site titled "Jew Watch."
According to Reuters, International Action for Justice (AIPJ) will file an injunction in a Paris court June 29 to have access to the site blocked off from France.
They also want General Communication Inc., a U.S.-based hosting company which carries Front 14, to stop offering access to the site to users based in France.
"We are asking these national ISPs to prevent access to an address that is offering hosting and web services for illegal, neo-Nazi militant Web sites,'' AIPJ's lawyer Stephane Lilti told Reuters. "We need to solve this problem. We cannot tolerate our laws being flouted by this site which acts like an incubator for nearly 500 neo-Nazi sites."
