Jun 27, 2001 : Protek Joins Micromuse Alliance Program

(micromuse.com), a leading provider of real time fault management and service assurance software, and Protek (protek.com) a global supplier of business and operational support systems, announced on Tuesday that Protek has joined the Micromuse Alliance Program as a Netcool Ready partner.

According to the agreement, Protek is licensing the Netcool/Software Developers Kit application to develop an interface to the Netcool suite. The integration will enable Protek to create a Netcool Ready solution for its Service Provisioning and Realtime Inventory solution.
Protek is focused on providing advanced realtime inventory systems that manage customer and service data as well as network equipment and end-to-end circuits. Micromuse and Protek already share a number of customers.
"Knowing as much as possible about the network is invaluable to network operators faced with problem resolution," said John Cuming, Protek's Vice President, Business Development. "The integration with Micromuse's Netcool suite will allow the instant association between network faults and the customers affected, helping network operators create associations between problems in the infrastructure, the uptime of services, service provisioning and inventory."

The impact of managing networks based on inaccurate data is devastating to the efficiency of fault resolution. The automatic discovery of equipment, equipment status changes and customer recognition are powerful features that are made possible with the integration of Protek's Service Provisioning solution and Micromuse's Netcool suite.
