📅 - Digital Island, Inc. (digitalisland.com) today announced Chunghwa Telecom Co. Ltd, one of Taiwan's largest telecommunications carriers, has joined Digital Island's Private Content Exchange (PCX) program. Through its wholly owned subsidiaries, including Taiwan's leading Internet service provider HiNet, Chunghwa provides data and Internet services for more than 3 million customers. The PCX program providesChunghwa with a cost-effective method to offer regional content deliverynetwork services to customers by leveraging the global reach of DigitalIsland's 2Way Web Services when a request for content is made outside of itsnetwork presence.
Without incurring the often large capital expenses of building out its owncontent delivery network, Chunghwa is now able to immediately expand itshosting customers' Internet presence worldwide. The PCX program enablesChunghwa to leverage Digital Island's 2Way Web Services and service familymodules by connecting and sharing Digital Island's open content deliveryinfrastructure to drive revenue and expand content delivery reach. Under theagreement, Chunghwa is also reselling Digital Island's 2Deliver servicessuch as content delivery and live and on-demand streaming media services.

Digital Island's content delivery network spansmore than 300 telecommunications and ISP networks in 35 countries, includingmany top-tier broadband Internet service providers in Asia, North Americaand Europe.
