📅 May 14, 2002 - Managed hosting provider Digex (digex.com) said today it had been selected by Lateral Payment Solutions, an international online transaction firm, to host the company's payment processor and Web site.

Under the agreement, Digex will host Lateral Payment Solution's operations on a Compaq platform running Microsoft Windows 2000 and Digex SmartServices, the company's value-added managed hosting service which offers administration, monitoring, reporting, backup and security.
With the solution, Lateral Payment Solutions is aiming to offer its clients a secure method for online trading while dramatically speeding up the online payment process. The company allows businesses to accept multi-currency credit card payments online.
"It was essential that our business went online as soon as we did so that new and existing businesses could benefit from our secure, multi currency payment solution. We selected Digex to host our payment portal and website because we needed speed to market as well as high security for our clients," said Mandy Smalley, Managing Director, Lateral Payment Solutions.

📅 May 15, 2002 - Interliant Obtains $7.5 Million Loan for Operations - Managed infrastructure services firm Interliant, Inc. (interliant.com) said today it has secured a working loan of $7.5 million from Silicon Valley Bank, a California chartered bank with principal offices in Santa Clara, California. The underlying loan agreement has a term of one year and provides for interest at prime plus two percent on amounts borrowed. The loan is collateralized by a first-priority security interest in the company's personal property. As part of this transaction, Interliant also issued to Silicon Valley Bank a warrant to purchase 1.2 million shares of its common stock at $0.30 per share. The warrant expires five years from the date of issuance.
