📅 - E-mail software and outsourcing services firm L-Soft (lsoft.com) said this week it had partnered with antivirus firm F-Secure to offer enhanced security in the newest version of its popular LISTSERV e-mail manager.
Originally launched in 1986, L-Soft said LISTSERV has been equipped with a redesigned Web interface that improves the facilitation list management. The company's partnership with F-Secure makes LISTSERV the first and only e-mail list manager in the industry that screens e-mail for viruses, the company said. Other improvements to the product include enhanced reporting features, a new content filter and a subscriber profile page. "After a turbulent year, the strategy for most of our customers is back to the basics," said Eric Thomas, L-Soft founder and CEO. "Organizations are demanding dependable, scalable and professional software solutions to support e-mail communication with their customers, and this is what LISTSERV is all about."

(performanceproducts.com), an auto parts and accessories supplier, had selected the company to host and manage its popular online store. Performance Products' online store has served over a million customers since going online in 1996. The company, which has provided auto parts via mail order since 1964, said Internet sales now account for a sizable chunk of its business. (stt.st.com.sg) announced on Saturday that they have ended discussions to purchase bankrupt telecommunications company Global Crossing (globalcrossing.com) after months of unsuccessful negotiations. 📅 - FBI Asks Web Host to Remove Pearl Video: Reports - The Federal Bureau of Investigation has asked a Virginia-based Web hosting firm to remove video footage of the murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, several news outlets reported. Pearl was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan earlier this year. According to Wired.com, Web hosting firm Pro Hosters (Prohosters.com -> hostinger.com) was contacted by agents from the FBI's Newark field office late last week.
