Apr, 2003 : Q9 Networks Wins New Managed Hosting Contract

📅 April 16, 2003 - Q9 Networks (q9.com -> equinix.com) today announced it has won a contract to provide managed hosting services to Dairy Farmers of Ontario ? an organization that represents 6,000 dairy farmers and 80 processing plants in the province.

Q9 will be entrusted with handling the organization's several Web properties, including a password-protected site that stores and reports information that represents $1.3 billion in annual provincial agricultural output.
"Most milk producers are in rural areas and are limited to dial-up Internet access from second-tier providers," says Lloyd Whiting, Director, Information Services Division, Dairy Farmers of Ontario. "Access to our site can be extremely slow or non-existent. We expect that Q9's network, with its connections to all major Internet backbones and over two dozen ISPs, will dramatically improve the speed and accessibility of our site."
The new contract illuminates Q9's ability to deliver its services across multiple industries.
