Apr, 2014 : Staples To Offer In-Store 3D Printing Services

📅 - Office supply retailer, Staples, has partnered with 3D systems to offer 3D printing services to two of its stores in Los Angeles and New York City, announced the company via press release.

Customers can now have access to 3D printing services without having to spend thousands of dollars on buying an actual printer.

“3D printing offers enormous potential for small businesses, and by using Staples, they can print with the technology without having to invest in it,” says Staples senior VP of Business Services, Damien Leigh. “The test with 3D Systems will help us learn about our customers' needs for a local 3D printing service, and how Staples can help them make more happen for their business through 3D printing.”

Each store will have an “expert” from 3D Systems on site, along with a Copy & Print associate to help customers with their 3D experience. Most items can be printed in store, but bigger items will have to be shipped to customers, says the retailer.

Staples become the first retailer in the U.S. to carry 3D printers with the launch of its Cube 3D Printer.
