📅 May 16, 2007 - Content delivery solutions provider Mirror Image Internet (mirror-image.com) announced on Wednesday it will provide support for Microsoft Silverlight (silverlight.net), a new cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for delivering enriched media experiences and interactive applications for the Web. The announcement was made Wednesday morning at the Streaming Media East Conference & Exposition held at the Hilton New York in New York City.

Microsoft Silverlight, previously called Windows Presentation Foundation Everywhere, integrates with existing Web technologies and assets to provide higher-quality experiences for reduced media delivery costs. Delivered to end-users through a seamless, fast installation, Silverlight offers consistent experiences to both Macintosh and Windows users on a variety of browsers including Internet Explorer, FireFox and Safari.

Building upon existing support for multimedia formats, including Windows Media, Flash, Real, and QuickTime, Mirror Image support for Microsoft's Silverlight will provide current and prospective clients with even greater flexibility and reliability when delivering streaming media content to users worldwide. Additionally, clients will be able to reduce deployment costs and become more efficient in terms of bandwidth and hardware use.
