unorganized and now undeservingly raise cost $3
I started with Uniserve in 2003 by default when they bought digital ark (oberon) up in Campbell River. Part of a massive Island buy-out. It's been a roller coaster ride ever since. The services were okay but pricing, email and web page hosting was a night mare from the beginning. I moved down to the city and they gave me new account details but couldn't lose the old account. My email and web pages stayed up in Campbell River. I'd discover that I was paying a few bucks more than everyone else for like three years so they'd give me a promotional deal to make up for it. Conflicts between the old account on the island and the new one on the Coast were constant. Even during the promotional deal they gave me in return for overcharging me by as much as $4.95/month for two years was unrecognized by hanf the company so I would get over charged time after time. I would have to explain to someone what was going on and it would be an issue every time. They'd say they had to slear the problem with their superiors. It would go on for weeks and take hours of my time at least every few months.
This year they deleted all my webpage files up in Campbell River...told me there was nothing they could do and said they sent a mailing out about the closure of that server to everyone. I received nothing. I keep all mail from Uniserve in a special folder because there was soooo much of it.
Now they didn't send out a January invoice and when I received my February invoice I see that they've increased their monthly "Fatwire 3.0" package by $3. From $29.95 to 32.95. $32.95 is what Inpayed for a year without being notified when the actual cost was supposed to be $29.95.
I really don't think they're in any positio0n to raise their rates. They are too unorganized and instead of just refunding over payed monthly packages they like to give you whatever promotional package they happen to be giving people to come aboard. But then three months later you realize thayt you're still paying the same amount, possibly more but definitely not the amount of the promotion. Almost definitely more. I'm currently looking for a new server after being with Uniserve since they bought out the smaller server up Island back around 2003. The larger they get the more unorganized they become. Good tech support but sales is all over the place and I've grown tired of watch dogging just to make sure I'm not getting the shaft. I haven't got the time.
I could go on with stories regarding at least three more incidences but I haven't got the energy. Explaining the situations it is almost as taxing as going through them again.
