While I am technically hosting with Hawk, it's more accurate to say I'm hosting with Frog Host (a subsidiary of Hawk). I will be referring to Frog Host for the rest of the review (since that's who I technically use), however I believe the support team and such are shared. Now that that's out of the way...

My experience thus far has been wonderful with Frog Host. My previous host (whom I will not name) wasn't really working out for me. I had yet to have any problems with them up until the end of last year. There were server issues (specifically database) that didn't seem to want to be resolved. So I ended up switching and I'm very glad I did.

So far I have had no issues with downtime and the support has been phenomenal. They answered all of my presales questions in a professional and timely manner and definitely knew what they were talking about. I was debating between Frog and Hawk, but I went with Frog because something just felt better about it.

A few features that I love about their service:
- They use cPanel that can be accessed through your own domain. No more logging into a proprietary panel from the host's website.
- cPanel is responsive. Often times my old host's PANEL would be down so I couldn't even make the changes to my database and what not.
- You don't have to go through the cPanel to access your database. This was very tedious with my old host and now I can use Sequel Pro to do my work (or SSH, more on that in a moment).
- Supports secure FTP
- Databases are highly configurable and hosted locally (eg localhost). You essentially have full control over mysql (unlike my previous host which had a watered down version of mysql and phpmyadmin).
- Supports hosting multiple domains on the same account
- Supports SSH. This is a standard feature on all Frog accounts. I would have had to upgrade to a new account on my old host to get this. However, when I was first testing it out there was a period where I couldn't login. Whether this was my own negligence or something server related, I cannot say. I was a little confused on how to get things set up, however I think I've gotten it now.
- Supports cron. Cron is virtually indispensable for what I use, however I had to use other methods on my old host so I didn't have to upgrade to get it. The cPanel has a cron interface and their support area has documentation on how to use it.

I could really go on and on about Frog. They have been excellent so far.

And I can't say enough about the support. Live chat is available during the day, and there is a ticket response team available 24/7. Tickets are responded to fast and accurately. A big thanks goes out to Brian who not only answered my presales questions, but helped me out afterwards in a friendly and professional manner. He remembered who I was and wasn't afraid to be a person when supporting me, and that really meant a lot. And when Brian wasn't responding, I was getting answers from Tony, the head of the company. Both were very friendly and quick to help.

Overall my experience has been astounding and I highly recommend Frog (and probably Hawk) to anybody. And be sure to look for promos because they'll help a lot and be sure to use the affiliates system.
