Worst Domain Registrar!

I've hosted with Gandi for 2 years. I even moved some family and businesses over to Gandi as well.

I tried to do a simple domain transfer for one of my int'l .jp domains because Gandi overcharges for them ($90 yr).

My new registrar tried for 10 days to get it transferred from Gandi. Gandi email support is a joke. They email every 2 or 3 days to say its "in process".

The first Gandi email tried to argue that Gandi was not a reseller for a Japanese registrar and to send the transfer request to Gandi only. My new registrar and JPRS had to verify that they were indeed only a reseller! So requests had to be made to their parent Japanese registrar.

Why they did not know that is beyond me! After 11 days (1 day before the transfer expired), it finally went through!

After this fiasco, I tried to transfer a .com away from them too. It's still sitting in my Gandi control panel 5 days later! I have no idea if they are just insanely slow or what, but this is pretty ridiculous for a domain registrar.

I have no problem with their hosting, it is still one of the best choices out there! But as a registrar, I give them 1 star.
