ChillyDomains is the web hosting equivalent of Asda in that it epitomises the phrases: "you get what you pay for," and; "stack 'em high and sell 'em cheap!"
Their Plesk 8.6.0 control panel isn't actually that bad and is quite user-friendly once you get used to it, though it does appear to alter its features with the phases of the moon.
One major gripe is the fact that the image uploading facility can be more than a little precarious. A good deal of my time over the last couple of years has been wasted in repeated attempts to upload even small and well optimised images. Oddly, I have recently discovered that it can sometimes help to change the name of an image if the control panel is having a hard time uploading it. However, once a file is placed in the FTP space, it does seem stable enough in there.
The uptime is pretty good too - I can think of very few occasions when things have gone drastically amiss.
Alright, here comes the down side...
Sure, their hosting doesn't cost much and their FTP seems more or less stable - but just you try to get them to sort out any problems you might have and you'll pretty soon find out exactly why they're so cheap.
For my part, I've been trying to get my Custom Error Pages enabled through their control panel for many many many months without any success, despite all their assurances. I can only conclude that they are neither willing nor able to fix the problem - a very poor show indeed. As for their help tickets, just forget it - I've never had a single one replied to since I've been using them!
So all in all, given that they are so cheap, I'll likely stick with them for the next six months or so - however, if they don't pull their fingers out and match their technology and support to their claims, I'll be moving on to another host fairly soonish after that.
