Browsing, streaming or working safely are only some of the promises made by TunnelBear. They offer optimized speed that enables quick online searches without encountering throttling or buffering.
Given their unlimited bandwidth and server switches in over 41 countries, customers have free access to multiple websites worldwide due to their expanding network.
They claim to be the only VPN service that actually offers to publish regular security audits of apps. Security is also provided by the AES 256-bit encryption that ensures online safety.
The free plan is more like a free trial where you can test out their service under a limited usage with only 500MB security over your browser.
The other two plans allow unlimited secure browsing and the possibility to connect up to 5 simultaneous devices at the same time. The Team plan also includes centralized team billing and management, as well as a dedicated account manager.
In 2018, TunnelBear was acquired by cybersecurity brand McAfee and fell under U.S. jurisdiction. McAfee intended to combine its own VPN service with TunnelBear's technologies.

Their pricing rates are regular for the hosting market and discounts are applied when purchasing a long-term contract. They accept multiple forms of payment included VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Bitcoin.
