ZettaHost is a long-running European hosting provider whose history goes back to 2002, when the service was started by a group of students in Europe. The business is operated by Zetta Hosting Solutions Ltd., a Bulgarian company based in Sofia. Its early development is closely connected with AwardSpace, another free-hosting project launched within the same hosting ecosystem in 2003.

ZettaHost has developed into a broad hosting platform covering free hosting, commercial shared hosting, WordPress hosting, semi-dedicated accounts, VPS/cloud servers, reseller hosting, domain registration and SSL certificates. The service remains especially notable for combining permanently free hosting with clear upgrade paths toward larger shared, semi-dedicated and VPS environments.

The Zetta Free plan provides 1 GB storage, 5 GB monthly traffic, one hosted domain, three subdomains and one MySQL database. PHP and Perl are available, there are no setup charges, and the account does not automatically convert into a paid subscription. Free customers use the same general hosting environment and custom control-panel approach as the commercial services, including Zacky application installation.

Commercial shared hosting starts with Zetta Personal, which provides unlimited storage and monthly traffic, supports two hosted domains, includes MySQL and PostgreSQL databases and provides one domain free for the first year. Zetta Business supports unlimited hosted domains, subdomains and MySQL databases and includes one domain free for as long as the hosting subscription remains active.

Paid shared plans include weekly backups, email hosting, database administration, DNS and domain management and a 99.9% network uptime commitment. WordPress hosting runs on the same shared-hosting infrastructure, with WordPress deployment handled through the Zacky installer.

Application-oriented hosting is also available for WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Elgg, MediaWiki, OpenCart, osCommerce and PrestaShop. These packages use the shared-hosting environment but simplify installation and initial configuration for customers who prefer to start directly with a particular CMS, forum or e-commerce platform. Zacky supports the most common web applications, while the broader installer environment includes more than 50 scripts.

For websites requiring considerably more resources than ordinary shared hosting, Semi-Dedicated Hosting provides larger CPU, RAM and database allowances without requiring the customer to administer a complete server. Debian 12 Bookworm is the standard VPS operating system, while several Debian, Ubuntu and CentOS alternatives can also be installed. The VPS range gives developers and more experienced administrators a practical upgrade from semi-dedicated hosting when full operating-system control becomes necessary.

The Reseller Hosting platform is another substantial part of the service. Resellers can create their own hosting packages, establish retail prices and operate customizable storefronts without maintaining their own server infrastructure. Shared hosting sold through the reseller system uses clustered services where MySQL, PostgreSQL and email functions can operate on separate service nodes. Resellers can also offer semi-dedicated hosting, VPS accounts, domains and SSL services under their own business identity.

Domain services include registration, renewal, DNS administration, WHOIS management, registrar locking and EPP transfer controls. Depending on the hosting package, customers can receive a domain free for the first year or for the lifetime of the active hosting subscription.
