ZebraHost is an independently owned US hosting and cloud infrastructure provider founded on July 7, 2000 in Des Moines, Iowa, by Clive Swanepoel, who continues to lead the company as founder and CEO. The business started as a hosting reseller and gradually developed into a much broader infrastructure provider using its own server hardware in professional data-center environments. Nate Battles joined ZebraHost in 2019 as Managing Partner and is also a co-owner.

The company reached its 25th anniversary in July 2025, giving it a notably long operating history compared with many smaller independent hosting providers. ZebraHost has also been moving customers toward a newer client portal, while some legacy account and product systems have continued to operate during the transition.

The service range extends far beyond conventional shared hosting. ZebraHost provides Web Hosting, Public Cloud, Private Network VPS, Virtual Private Cloud, Dedicated Private Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, Domain Registration, Cloud Email, SSL Certificates, Backup, Remote Desktop, Load Balancing, Application Hosting, software licenses and customized infrastructure. This makes the company suitable both for relatively simple websites and for businesses requiring private networks, isolated virtual environments or multi-node cloud deployments.

Standard Web Hosting is fully managed and uses cPanel. The entry package supports one website with 10 GB of storage, while larger plans increase storage, resource limits and the number of hosted websites. PHP, MySQL, FTP, email, SSL and common CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal and Joomla are supported. The hosting environment is therefore familiar to customers migrating from a typical Linux shared-hosting provider.

Current ordering prices are more useful than some older product-page prices. The Basic hosting plan currently starts from $6.95 per month, while an older hosting price of $7.35 per month can still appear elsewhere. Similar differences exist across parts of the catalog, making the current ordering system the most relevant reference for a new account.

The Balanced Public Cloud uses KVM virtualization with SSD storage and is intended for general Linux and Windows workloads, websites and applications. Entry-level Linux cloud instances start from approximately $5 per month, with progressively larger configurations available as CPU, memory and storage requirements increase. Dedicated IP addressing and generous data-transfer allocations are available with these cloud systems.

Private Network VPS adds stronger network isolation than an ordinary VPS by combining virtual servers with a private VLAN and firewall environment. These systems are aimed at business applications, databases, backup workloads and other deployments that benefit from separation from public-facing infrastructure. Current configurations begin at approximately $60 per month.

The Virtual Private Cloud service functions more like a virtual data center. Customers can create and manage multiple virtual machines inside an isolated environment, use private networking and allocate resources according to their own internal requirements. This provides considerably more flexibility than purchasing individual VPS instances separately.

At the higher end, Dedicated Private Cloud uses dedicated physical compute nodes rather than shared host systems. Configurations begin with multi-node clusters and can scale to larger environments with substantial processor, memory and storage resources. This category is particularly relevant for organizations running multiple internal services, compliance-sensitive applications or workloads requiring predictable dedicated capacity.

The Hybrid Cloud platform connects locally operated infrastructure with ZebraHost cloud resources. This allows an organization to retain selected systems on its own premises while extending compute, application, backup or disaster-recovery capacity into hosted infrastructure.

Additional infrastructure services include Load Balancing, available in both shared and dedicated managed configurations, and Zebra Backup, which uses system-image snapshots and can accommodate multi-terabyte backup requirements. Managed Remote Desktop provides centralized Windows or Linux desktop environments accessible remotely, including browser-based access and multi-factor authentication options.

The email portfolio goes beyond the basic mailboxes included with shared hosting. Zebra Cloud Mail supports custom domains, spam and malware filtering, webmail and desktop or mobile email clients. Larger business mailboxes, additional filtering and business productivity services are also available.

Domain registration can be managed alongside hosting and cloud services. Mainstream extensions such as .com, .net, .org, .ca and .co.uk are available together with a much wider selection of TLDs, allowing domains, hosting and renewals to remain under the same account.

SSL options include automated or managed Let's Encrypt certificates and commercial certificates from DigiCert, GeoTrust and RapidSSL. Let's Encrypt can be used without an additional certificate fee on suitable Linux hosting, while some Windows-related installation and management services may incur additional charges.

The website and customer services operate in English, while pricing is primarily provided in USD. International infrastructure can include location-specific surcharges depending on the selected service and deployment region.

Some legacy pages retain older prices, addresses and footer information, while the current client portal contains newer configurations and billing values. For that reason, the final cart price and selected service configuration are the most useful references when placing a new order.
