Its history began during the early commercial development of the internet in Costa Rica. One of its first important projects was LaCarretica.com, among the country’s early e-commerce initiatives. The company received an Innovation Award from the Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce in 2004, while some of its work also attracted international media attention. Operations later expanded into Spain and Argentina.

Y2K Webs now concentrates on managed WordPress and WooCommerce hosting rather than conventional low-cost hosting. The service combines hosting infrastructure, website maintenance, controlled updates, security, backups, professional email and technical assistance. This makes it more suitable for businesses that want one provider to manage both their website and the technical environment behind it.

The active managed-hosting range consists of Care Basic, Care Pro and Care Business. Every package includes managed hosting, SSL, professional email, daily backups, WordPress updates, security monitoring, weekly reports and a domain registration that remains included while the subscription stays active.

Care Basic includes 10 GB of storage and one hour per month for minor website modifications. It is appropriate for small company websites, professional presentations, blogs and relatively simple WordPress installations.

Care Pro increases storage to 20 GB and adds more advanced optimization, priority assistance and two hours per month for small changes. It offers the best balance for established business websites that require regular maintenance and occasional development work.

Care Business provides 40 GB of storage, advanced WordPress and WooCommerce optimization, priority assistance, three hours of monthly modifications and staging environments when required. The packages support additional domains, parked domains, generous data transfer, multiple email accounts, CDN functionality, image optimization, daily backups and SEO tools. Email usage remains subject to reasonable-use restrictions, so the service is intended for normal business communication rather than mass mailing or unlimited archival storage.

WordPress core files, themes and plugins receive controlled updates. This reduces the risk of compatibility problems compared with fully automatic updates that are applied without testing. Premium themes and plugins still require valid customer licenses.

The Streaming & Radio Online service includes HTML5 players, radio-station microsites, progressive web applications, listener statistics, AutoDJ, stream monitoring and assistance with directory submissions.
