XetHost is a Hungarian hosting and infrastructure provider established on February 14, 2014. XET Kft. started with VPS, web hosting, SMTP, SSL certificates and domain registration, followed by dedicated server rental in July 2014. The customer base reached 100 accounts during its first year, 200 in 2015, 500 in 2017, 1,000 in 2018 and 1,500 by November 2020. Bitcoin payments were introduced in 2017, the company became a RIPE member during the same year, automated billing arrived in 2018, direct card payments followed in 2020, cPanel hosting was introduced in 2021, and VPS deployment became automated in 2023. Managed Nextcloud and Mattermost services were also added during 2023.

The corporate structure includes XET Kft. and ATW Internet Kft.. ATW Internet Kft., registration number 01-09-736956, handles important operational and billing functions and is listed with headquarters at Esztergomi út 66 in Budapest. XET Kft., registration number 01-09-186623, remains identified as the service provider and data controller, with its registered office at Fraknó utca 8 in Budapest. Customers can therefore encounter both corporate identities across contractual, privacy and billing information.

The service range is considerably broader than conventional shared hosting. XetHost provides VPS Hosting, Shared Web Hosting, Dedicated Servers, Domain Registration, SMTP Service, Website Monitoring, Nextcloud Hosting, Mattermost Hosting and DNS services. SSL certificates have been part of the business since its earliest years, while free SSL is included with shared hosting. An affiliate program is also available.

VPS Hosting is one of the core services. Standard configurations start with 1 GB RAM and 20 GB SSD storage and extend to 8 GB RAM and 160 GB SSD, with 1 to 4 vCPU cores depending on the selected package. Traffic is unlimited, root access is included, IPv6 is supported and resources can be upgraded. PTR/reverse-DNS configuration is also available.

The VPS platform supports CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu and AlmaLinux. Customers can choose predefined plans or build a custom VPS when the standard combinations do not provide the required balance of CPU, RAM and storage.

Provisioning is highly automated. Once an order has been paid, VPS installation can begin automatically and access details can normally be generated within minutes. The VPS management interface allows customers to reinstall the operating system, change the operating system, restart the server and use console access without waiting for manual administrator intervention.

Shared Web Hosting targets websites that do not need full server administration. The Start plan includes 1 GB SSD storage, 200 MB of e-mail capacity and 200 MB of SQL storage. Business increases these limits to 5 GB disk space, 4 GB e-mail and 2 GB SQL, while Growing provides 10 GB disk, 10 GB e-mail and 2.5 GB SQL.

All three shared hosting plans include unlimited hosted websites, unlimited FTP accounts, free SSL certificates, SSD storage and daily backups. The entry package is relatively compact by modern hosting standards, especially for storage and database capacity, but the annual price remains correspondingly low.

Shared hosting files, databases and e-mail accounts are automatically backed up. Backup copies are retained for 30 days. The service terms also provide two free backup restorations per year, with additional restorations potentially carrying a separate charge.

Dedicated Server Hosting is available for customers needing exclusive physical hardware. Dedicated machines include root access and unlimited traffic, and the minimum rental period is only one month. CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu and AlmaLinux can be installed.

Hardware maintenance is included. If a physical server fails, replacement with working hardware is available within 24 hours. Standard provisioning is within approximately two business days after payment, although many configurations can be supplied considerably faster. Dedicated servers are primarily self-managed systems, making them better suited to customers comfortable with operating-system and server administration.

Nextcloud Hosting was launched in May 2023. The Start package provides 400 GB storage, Business provides 1 TB and Max increases capacity to 4 TB. All packages support unlimited user accounts and a 1 Gbit/s network connection. Traffic allowances range from 1.5 TB through 3 TB to 10 TB depending on the plan.

The managed Nextcloud environment includes OnlyOffice, Draw.io, contacts, calendar, file versioning, file sharing, two-factor authentication, security updates and uptime monitoring. Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux clients are supported. This service is hosted in Germany rather than on the main Budapest hosting platform.

Mattermost Hosting followed in August 2023. It provides a managed collaboration environment with searchable message history, file and link sharing, audio calls, screen sharing, Kanban-style project boards, workflow automation, integrations, reporting and unlimited channels.

Starter is intended for teams of approximately 5 to 25 people, Growth for 25 to 50 and All Star for 50 to 100. The packages allow unlimited user accounts and include security maintenance and uptime monitoring.

The SMTP Service is designed as an outgoing mail relay rather than a complete mailbox service. Incoming mail and IMAP are not included. SSL/TLS encryption and DKIM signing are supported, while customers can configure SPF and DMARC for their own domains.

SMTP access can be used from websites, mail clients, servers and mobile devices. After payment, credentials are normally generated automatically within a few minutes. A separately priced Newsletter option is available for larger mailing requirements.

Website and Uptime Monitoring supports checks at intervals of 15 minutes, five minutes or one minute depending on the package. Account limits range from five monitors to 50 and 200 monitors.

Monitoring options include HTTPS availability, SSL certificate expiration, keyword checks, port monitoring and IP blacklist/RBL checks. The largest package also supports SolusVM monitoring through its API. Monitoring nodes operate from several European locations, including Budapest, Hungary; Arezzo, Italy; Ktiš, Czech Republic; and Slough, United Kingdom.

Domain Registration covers extensions including .com, .net, .org, .eu and .hu, with registration, renewal and transfer services available. For .hu domains, XET Kft. works through DotRoll. DNS management is also available through XET DNS.

XetHost supports both English and Hungarian. The international xethost.com site uses English, while xethost.hu serves Hungarian customers. The customer portal also supports both languages.

Billing can involve USD, EUR and HUF, depending on the product and ordering system. Cryptocurrency support is extensive, with more than 50 cryptocurrencies accepted in addition to conventional payment methods.

The website received a substantial redesign in 2020 and has a modern responsive layout. Some product information still reflects different generations of the service. Older cross-product pricing can differ from the main price tables, and some shared-hosting help text contains VPS-related information. The checkout system and main product configuration should therefore be treated as the definitive specification for an order.
