WMHost is a Finnish web hosting provider with roots going back to 2001, giving the brand more than two decades of history in Finland's hosting market. At the end of 2008, DevNet Oy acquired the WMHost business from Magnadur Oy, and WMHost later became an auxiliary business name of DevNet Oy. DevNet itself was founded in 2005 and operates from Lahti, Finland.

WMHost has gradually transitioned toward the newer WM brand at wm.fi. The original wmhost.com domain remains useful for existing customers and historical service information, while current orders are handled through WM. This distinction matters because some technical specifications on the older WMHost service catalog belong to earlier hosting generations, including references to PHP 5, Windows Server 2008/2012 and Finland's former 24% VAT rate. Current customers should therefore use WM's present service specifications when selecting software versions or ordering new hosting.

The hosting portfolio covers Shared Hosting, Domains, VPS, Colocation Hosting, Backup, SSL Certificates, Microsoft Exchange, E-commerce, CMS Hosting and related server administration services. Shared hosting has traditionally been divided into Basic, Premium and Business packages, while their newer counterparts are sold as WM Start, WM Plus and WM Max. A WordPress-focused WM WP Plus option is also available.

The entry-level Basic package provides 1 GB of storage and five mailboxes, Premium expands this to 10 GB and ten mailboxes, while Business includes 20 GB and up to 100 mailboxes. The larger packages suit business websites, content-heavy projects and lighter e-commerce use. Common hosting functions include domain management, email, MySQL databases, FTP and DNS administration.

Their current hosting infrastructure uses SSD-based service clusters together with technologies including CloudLinux, AlmaLinux and Debian. Installatron simplifies deployment and maintenance of common web applications, while cPanel remains the main hosting management interface. WHMCS and OpenStack are also part of the broader service infrastructure where applicable.

Domain registration remains an important part of the business, covering .fi domains together with widely used international extensions such as .com, .net and .org. DNS hosting, domain parking and forwarding services are also available.

For customers requiring greater administrative control, WMHost has long offered VPS services with dedicated IP addresses and administrator/root access. Earlier virtual servers operated on Xen virtualization with RAID-10 storage and both Linux and Windows options. Those older operating-system selections are no longer representative of modern deployment requirements, so new VPS customers should follow the current WM and DevNet infrastructure specifications.

The server hotel and colocation business is particularly relevant for Finnish organizations that prefer to operate their own hardware while outsourcing the datacenter environment. Customers can place physical servers in the Lahti facility and combine colocation with firewall management, monitoring, maintenance, software updates, backup and redundancy services. Hardware procurement and related technical maintenance can also be handled through DevNet.

Monitoring services can detect unavailable servers or applications and generate notifications when problems occur. This makes the service more suitable for business systems where simple unmanaged rack space would not provide enough operational support.

Backup services cover both workstations and servers. The older service structure includes Basic and Pro options with scheduled backups, Windows and macOS support, Linux support on the Pro tier and application-specific backup options for databases and Microsoft Exchange. A 14-day trial with 5 GB of capacity has also been available.

Their application portfolio extends beyond conventional hosting. DevNet eCMS provides browser-based website management, while DevNet eShop adds product, customer, order, campaign and online-payment functionality for e-commerce projects. Hosted Microsoft Exchange provides business email, shared calendars, Outlook integration, mobile synchronization, shared mailboxes and web access.

The website is primarily Finnish-only, and no complete English localization exists. Product pricing is in EUR. This works well for the domestic Finnish market but makes the service less convenient for international customers who prefer English-language ordering and administration.

The older wmhost.com design and service presentation also belong to an earlier generation of hosting websites. It remains functional, but customers ordering a new service should use wm.fi for current products, technical requirements, software versions and prices.
