The Monthly Plan is the full Windscribe Pro subscription at $9 USD billed every month. It includes unlimited data, access to the complete Pro location pool, the full R.O.B.E.R.T. feature set with up to 1000 custom rules, and manual configuration generation for OpenVPN, IKEv2 and WireGuard. Pro users also receive ephemeral port forwarding at no additional charge; a requested port remains active for seven days and can then be renewed with a new request. Permanent port forwarding requires a separately purchased Static IP. The monthly subscription has no long-term commitment, renews automatically and can be canceled from the account. Payment can be made by credit card, PayPal, cryptocurrency and supported local payment methods. The initial subscription can be considered for refund within seven days when paid-plan traffic remains below 10 GB and the other refund conditions are satisfied; renewal payments are excluded. Unlimited personal-device use is included.

Windscribe is a Canadian VPN and privacy company founded in 2016 and headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. It is not a conventional web hosting provider and does not sell shared hosting, VPS, dedicated servers, reseller hosting, domain registration, or colocation. Its main business is encrypted VPN connectivity, privacy protection, censorship circumvention, DNS filtering, static IP services, and VPN access for individuals and business teams.The company is privately owned and self-funded, without outside investors. Ownership is shared between founders Yegor Sak, Alex Paguis and Mark Ulicki together with Windscribe employees. Its workforce falls within the 11-50 employee range, while the service has grown to more than 100 million users.
The core product is Windscribe VPN, available through native applications for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS, browser extensions, Fire TV, Apple TV and other television platforms, as well as router configurations. One account can be used across unlimited personal devices, avoiding the five- or ten-device restrictions commonly imposed by VPN providers.
The Free account remains one of Windscribe's strongest entry-level options. An account created without an email address receives 2 GB per month, while confirming an email address increases the allowance to 10 GB per month. Free users can connect through servers in 10 countries and still receive the main encryption technologies, VPN protocols, Firewall leak protection and unrestricted connection speeds. The main limitations are the monthly traffic allowance, reduced location selection and fewer advanced account features.
Windscribe Pro removes the bandwidth limit and opens the complete VPN network. Its applications support WireGuard, IKEv2, OpenVPN UDP, OpenVPN TCP, Stealth and WStunnel. WireGuard uses ChaCha20-Poly1305, while the OpenVPN and IKEv2 configurations use AES-256 encryption. Stealth and WStunnel are particularly valuable on restrictive networks because they disguise VPN traffic when standard VPN connections are blocked.
R.O.B.E.R.T. provides server-side DNS filtering for advertising, trackers, malicious domains and other unwanted categories. Build A Plan offers a more flexible alternative to a complete Pro subscription. Individual Pro locations cost $1 per location per month, with each location adding 10 GB of monthly traffic and a $3 minimum purchase. Unlimited Data together with expanded R.O.B.E.R.T. capabilities can also be added. A maximum of seven locations can be selected before the normal Pro package becomes the more practical option. Build A Plan does not include every feature available with the full Pro subscription, particularly some R.O.B.E.R.T. customization and ephemeral port-forwarding options.
Business customers can use ScribeForce, which combines standard Pro functionality with centralized user management and consolidated billing. Pricing is $5 per seat per month, with a minimum of five users and support for teams of up to 500 accounts. Administrators can manage team members from one interface and share purchased static IP resources across the organization.
Windscribe also provides Static IP services. These are shared among a relatively small number of Windscribe customers rather than being fully dedicated to one account, which preserves more anonymity than a traditional dedicated IP. Datacenter static IP locations include Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Toronto, Tokyo, Singapore and several US cities, while residential static IP availability is concentrated in a smaller number of North American locations.
Permanent port forwarding can be combined with static IPs, with up to 10 ports per device. Full Pro subscribers can also use ephemeral port forwarding without buying a static IP, although the assigned port must be renewed periodically.
Manual VPN configurations are available for OpenVPN, IKEv2 and WireGuard. This is useful for routers, operating systems without a native Windscribe application, or customers who prefer standard VPN clients. The applications also include features such as Split Tunneling, Firewall protection, custom DNS, MAC-address spoofing, Secure Hotspot, Proxy Gateway and censorship-circumvention settings.
Privacy is one of Windscribe's stronger characteristics. The service does not retain browsing histories, visited websites, source IP addresses or historical VPN-session records. Account information retained for operational purposes primarily covers bandwidth consumption and recent activity required for account management and abuse prevention. Temporary connection information necessary for an active VPN session is kept in memory and discarded afterward.
The VPN infrastructure uses RAM-only, diskless servers, reducing the amount of persistent information that can remain on the server after a reboot or physical seizure. Windscribe has also undergone independent security auditing of both its VPN infrastructure and client applications. Desktop applications, Android software and browser extensions are open source.
