Web World Ireland is a long-established Irish hosting provider, domain registrar, ISP and data-center operator based in Dublin. Its hosting business dates back to 1998, when it was founded by Dave Geoghegan, while the operating company, Sternforth Limited, was incorporated in Ireland on February 14, 1997 under company registration number 261401. The business has remained relatively compact despite developing a broad hosting and infrastructure portfolio and serving customers well beyond Ireland.

Web World has grown considerably beyond conventional shared hosting. Its services cover Domains, Shared Hosting, Windows Hosting, Reseller Hosting, VPS, Dedicated Servers, Colocation, Managed Servers, Email Hosting, Spam Filtering, SSL Certificates, DDoS Protection, Endpoint Security, AI Agents and Broadband. It is an ICANN-accredited registrar, a .IE Gold Partner, a Nominet registrar for .uk, a SIDN registrar for .nl, an EURid registrar for .eu and a RIPE NCC member. The company handles tens of thousands of websites and has served more than 20,000 customers across 43 countries.

Part of this growth came through acquisitions. Host Ireland was acquired in 2016, followed by WebHost in 2018, bringing more than 6,000 customer domains into the Web World infrastructure. Its first Dublin data center opened in February 2005 at South City Business Centre, and a second Dublin facility followed in 2015, considerably increasing the capacity available for hosting, dedicated servers and colocation.

Shared hosting is notable for the choice of several different management platforms. DirectAdmin Hosting starts with the Atlas package at €4.95 per month plus a €14.95 setup fee. It includes 25 GB storage, one CPU core, 512 MB RAM, 100 GB monthly data transfer and 100,000 inodes. Larger configurations reach 200 GB storage, four CPU cores, 4 GB RAM and 1 TB monthly transfer. Typical functionality includes MySQL databases, selectable PHP versions, file and DNS management, FTP, email accounts, cron jobs, statistics, backups and free SSL certificates.

cPanel Hosting is available separately and starts around €9.95 per month. It combines the familiar cPanel environment with Softaculous application installation, WordPress and other CMS applications, selectable PHP versions, MySQL, email hosting, SSH-related functions, .htaccess management and spam filtering. This makes it suitable for customers migrating from another conventional cPanel provider.

Plesk Hosting is particularly useful for Windows-based websites and also starts around €9.95 per month, normally with a €24.95 setup fee. These plans combine ASP.NET and .NET support with MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases, email hosting and SSL. Larger packages scale to around 200 GB storage, four CPU cores, 4 GB RAM and 1 TB monthly transfer.

A separate LiteSpeed Hosting environment is available for customers who want the LiteSpeed web server and associated caching technology, particularly for WordPress and other PHP applications where improved request handling can be useful.

Reseller Hosting starts with the Carbon package at €14.95 per month plus a €14.95 setup fee, providing 100 GB storage and support for ten customer accounts. Oxygen increases capacity to 200 GB and 15 accounts, Helium provides 300 GB and 50 accounts, while Hydrogen reaches 400 GB storage with unlimited accounts. DirectAdmin, automatic updates, self-installation features and free SSL certificates are included.

The VPS range provides virtual machines with administrative control, high-speed networking and several operating-system choices. Galileo starts at €15 per month plus a €25 setup fee with 2 GB RAM, one CPU core, 50 GB storage, a 1 Gbps connection and 5 TB monthly transfer. Hubble increases this to 4 GB RAM and two CPU cores at €30 per month, with larger systems available for more demanding applications.

A €25 per month VPS option is also available for Windows 10, Windows 11, OpenVPN or Ubiquiti CloudKey use. Linux operating-system choices include Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, Debian, CentOS/Fedora and SUSE, together with FreeBSD and Windows options. The newer VPS infrastructure uses KVM virtualization, NVMe storage, snapshots and API-based management.

Customers requiring physical hardware can choose Dedicated Servers built around Intel Xeon systems. These include full root access, 1 Gbps networking and DDoS protection. Configurations generally begin around €100 to €110 per month. An Ariane configuration based on a Xeon E5-2680 v4 includes 14 cores and 28 threads, dual 500 GB NVMe drives and 16 GB RAM, while more powerful systems include dual processors, multiple SSDs and substantially larger RAM capacities.

DirectAdmin can be licensed with dedicated servers, while cPanel is available separately through sales. Managed-server services add proactive monitoring, security maintenance, configuration assistance and Tier-3 engineering support. Full server management is available at approximately €150 per month.

Colocation ranges from individual rack units to complete private racks. Pricing starts around €105 per month for 1U with a 1 Gbps network connection, 5 TB monthly transfer and one amp of power. Larger allocations include 2U, 4U, 6U, 8U, 12U and 20U configurations, while a 42U private rack costs around €990 per month and includes a 1 Gbps connection, 15 TB monthly transfer and four amps of power.

Email can be purchased separately through Orion Email, with mailboxes hosted in Ireland. The service starts at €1.50 per month for a 5 GB mailbox, with larger 15 GB, 75 GB and 100 GB options. It supports encrypted IMAP, POP3 and SMTP, webmail, desktop and mobile mail clients, two-factor authentication, calendars, file management, large attachments, anti-spam protection and malware filtering.

A dedicated Spam Filtering service is also available from approximately €59 plus VAT per year. SSL certificates can be purchased separately, including standard organization-validated certificates, wildcard certificates and Extended Validation certificates, with typical annual prices ranging from about €50 to €125. Free SSL certificates are already included with many hosting and domain services.

A newer AI Agent service is available in three packages. Orbit costs €25 per month, Stratosphere €50 per month and Deep Space €100 per month, with a €25 setup fee applying to each package. This is still a much smaller part of Web World's business compared with hosting, servers, domains and data-center services.

Domain registration remains an important component of the business. Promotional registrations have included .ie domains from €2.95 for the first year, with renewal around €26.95, while .com registrations have been available around €7.99 initially with renewal around €18.95. Domain accounts include DNS management, DNSSEC, redirects, bulk administration, support for external DNS, WHOIS privacy where applicable and free SSL. Promotional registration prices should be distinguished from normal renewal rates.

Web World also provides fixed wireless and fiber Broadband services in Ireland. Residential wireless packages have included 50 Mbps service at €29.95 per month including VAT and 100 Mbps service at €49.95 per month, with unlimited usage and no telephone line requirement. Business wireless and fiber services are also available.

The company now operates a modern primary website, although some older account and catalog sections remain in use. Because a few legacy product entries can carry different pricing from newer packages, the final recurring charge and any setup fee should be checked carefully when placing an order, especially for Plesk, colocation and selected server products.

The main website is primarily in English, while the customer portal supports extensive localization.
