Webtropia is a German server-hosting brand active since 2001 and operated by WIIT AG in Düsseldorf. The business previously formed part of myLoc managed IT AG, which joined the Italian WIIT Group in 2020. The German operating company was renamed WIIT AG in April 2024, while Webtropia continued as the group’s competitively priced self-managed server brand.

Its operating history is considerably longer than that of most low-cost infrastructure providers. Virtual servers became part of the portfolio in 2011, followed by dedicated root servers in 2014. Later generations added Intel Xeon D, AMD Ryzen and AMD EPYC hardware. The wider WIIT organization now combines Webtropia’s retail server services with managed infrastructure, private cloud, colocation, backup and enterprise IT solutions.

Webtropia mainly serves customers who can administer their own infrastructure. It is not a conventional shared-hosting provider built around small beginner accounts, bundled website builders or fully managed WordPress packages. The main services include Dedicated Servers, Cloud VPS, Storage Servers, Enterprise Storage Servers, Cyber Protect, Cloud Backup, Domain Registration, DNS, SSL Certificates, Server Control Panels, DDoS Protection, Server Monitoring and Reseller Services.

The dedicated-server range covers Intel Core, AMD Ryzen, Intel Xeon and AMD EPYC systems. Intel Core configurations include processors such as the Core i5-9600K, Core i7-9700K and Core i9-9900K, while the AMD range includes Ryzen 5 3600, Ryzen 7 3700X and Ryzen 9 Pro 3900 machines. These systems typically include 32 GB or 64 GB RAM, mirrored SSD, NVMe or hard-drive storage, full root access, one IPv4 address, a /64 IPv6 subnet and a 1 Gbit network connection.

Core and Ryzen machines remain practical for game servers, websites, databases, development environments, application hosting, streaming workloads and other general-purpose deployments. The hardware belongs to proven earlier generations rather than the newest processor families, but pricing remains attractive for customers who value exclusive physical resources and predictable monthly costs. Availability can vary, with some configurations periodically out of stock.

Intel Xeon systems provide a more traditional server platform. Entry machines use processors such as the Xeon E-2136 and Xeon E-2186G, while larger systems use Xeon Silver 4110 and Xeon Gold 5118 processors. The AMD EPYC range includes EPYC 7302P, 7402P and 7502P models with 16, 24 or 32 physical cores. These servers are particularly suitable for virtualization, container platforms, private clouds, databases and highly parallel workloads. EPYC configurations use HPE ProLiant hardware and can accommodate faster network options when required.

Cloud VPS plans provide substantial memory and processor allocations for their price class. The Linux range begins with four guaranteed virtual cores, 8 GB RAM and 100 GB NVMe storage. Larger configurations reach ten virtual cores, 48 GB RAM and 400 GB NVMe. Customers can also choose SSD storage with greater capacity on certain plans.

Each Cloud VPS includes a 1 Gbit network port, 40 TB of monthly traffic, one dedicated IPv4 address, IPv6, a free .de domain and one backup or snapshot level. Linux and Windows Server installations are available, and resources can be upgraded through the customer-management system. Supported Linux distributions include Debian, Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, CentOS and openSUSE, together with several Windows Server editions.

Windows VPS plans follow the same general resource structure but include the Microsoft licensing cost. They work well for Windows applications, development systems, remote administration and workloads requiring Remote Desktop. They are less economical for basic website hosting because the Windows license significantly increases the monthly price.

The Storage Server range combines a mirrored system SSD arrangement with four high-capacity hard drives. AMD configurations use Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7 processors, 32 GB RAM, two 240 GB SSDs and either four 14 TB or four 22 TB storage drives. Comparable Intel systems are also available. These servers are well suited to backup repositories, large archives, media libraries, synchronization services, private cloud storage and object-storage projects.

Enterprise Storage systems increase capacity and use server-grade Xeon hardware. The smaller model combines a Xeon Silver processor with up to four large storage drives, while the larger Xeon Gold configuration supports ten 14 TB drives. Full root access allows customers to configure RAID, ZFS, backup software and their preferred storage architecture. Anyone storing irreplaceable or business-critical information should still design an independent backup strategy and confirm the available RAID options before ordering.

Cyber Protect combines endpoint security, antimalware protection, vulnerability assessment, email security, cloud backup and centralized reporting. Separate licenses cover virtual machines, dedicated servers, workstations and hosting servers. Certain editions include 500 GB of cloud storage, with data kept in Germany and protected with AES-256 encryption.

Basic DDoS protection is included with every server. This provides useful protection against common network attacks, although very large or sustained attacks may still lead to temporary filtering or IP blocking. Projects frequently exposed to attacks, including game servers and financial applications, should confirm the available mitigation capacity and escalation process in advance.

Webtropia also operates a reseller program for dedicated servers, VPS products and backup services. Resellers can receive volume-based discounts, access to a personal contact and a white-label interface through which their customers can manage servers, virtual machines and backup accounts.

The website supports English, German, Turkish, Dutch, Italian and Russian, giving the company broad international accessibility. Services are billed in euros.
