📄 Editorial Review

WebServer.com.my is one of Malaysia's long-established web hosting and Internet infrastructure providers, operating as a business unit of Acme Commerce Sdn Bhd, registration number 198901007624 (184927-W). The company dates back to 1989, while its specialization in managed hosting, database hosting and mission-critical application hosting began in 1999. During the same period, it became an International Macromedia ColdFusion Hosting Partner for Malaysia and later developed into an authorized MYNIC reseller.

The company has accumulated substantial experience in the Malaysian hosting market, with infrastructure supporting more than 1,000 servers, over 15,000 domains and customers across more than 70 countries. Its operations remain strongly centered on Malaysia, particularly Kuala Lumpur and Cyberjaya, while the service range extends well beyond conventional shared hosting.

The portfolio includes Domains, Linux Shared Hosting, Windows Shared Hosting, WordPress Hosting, VPS, SSD VPS, Windows VPS, Cloud Servers, Dedicated Servers, Private Cloud, Cloud Storage, Managed Cloud, Cloud VPN, Business Email, Email Marketing, SSL Certificates, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Website Security and Disaster Recovery. Web design, SEO and related digital services are also available.

Linux Shared Hosting starts with the Budget plan at RM25/month, including 10 GB storage, 50 GB monthly transfer, 768 MB RAM, one CPU core and cPanel. The Basic package increases storage to 20 GB with 1.5 GB RAM and two CPU cores, while Premium includes 30 GB storage, 2 GB RAM and unlimited monthly transfer. Linux hosting includes RoundCube webmail, POP3, SMTP, IMAP, MySQL, phpMyAdmin, FTP, anti-spam and antivirus functions. The hosting environment uses CloudLinux and Apache.

Windows Shared Hosting follows a similar RM25, RM50 and RM100 pricing structure and uses Plesk together with Windows Server and IIS. SmarterMail Professional handles email services, while MySQL, phpMyAdmin and ODBC support are also included. Windows hosting remains an important part of the catalog and makes WebServer particularly useful for customers maintaining ASP.NET, Windows-based applications or other Microsoft-oriented workloads.

WordPress Hosting is available both as conventional SSD hosting and as more powerful fully managed WordPress infrastructure. WP Professional costs RM62/month and includes 40 GB storage, 1.5 GB RAM, unlimited transfer and 100 Mbps connectivity. WP Business costs RM70/month with 60 GB storage and 2.5 GB RAM. The smaller WP SOHO package at RM25/month was unavailable at the latest pricing level. Fully managed WordPress servers start around RM240/month with 120 GB storage, six vCPU cores, 4 GB RAM and 1 TB monthly transfer. Managed WordPress includes daily backups, CDN integration, malware protection, DDoS protection, security management and server administration.

The VPS portfolio covers Linux and Windows environments together with SSD-based configurations. Conventional VPS starts around RM119–RM139/month. The RM139 Platinum configuration includes 100 GB disk space, eight vCPU cores, 2 GB RAM, 750 GB monthly transfer and a dedicated IPv4 address. SSD VPS starts around RM139/month with 50 GB SSD storage, four vCPU cores, 2 GB RAM, 2 TB transfer and 100 Mbps connectivity. Virtualization is based on KVM, while customers receive full root access and can host multiple domains without an artificial domain-count limitation.

Cloud Servers provide a more scalable alternative to traditional VPS hosting. Entry pricing starts around RM136/month for two vCPU cores, 4 GB RAM, 120 GB SSD storage, 1 TB monthly transfer, 100 Mbps networking and one IP address. The cloud platform uses redundant hardware and high-availability architecture and is more suitable for workloads that require easier resource expansion than conventional fixed VPS configurations.

Dedicated Servers start at approximately RM399/month. Entry-level systems use Intel Xeon processors with 8 GB RAM and 1 TB storage, while higher configurations provide considerably more processing power, memory and disk capacity. Linux and Windows systems are supported, and managed administration is available for customers that do not want to maintain the operating system and server stack themselves.

For more demanding corporate workloads, Private Cloud provides isolated infrastructure using multiple compute nodes, centralized storage, backup facilities and optional firewall protection. Corporate and Enterprise configurations can combine multiple web nodes, dual Xeon processors and RAID-protected storage, making this part of the service range more suitable for business-critical applications than ordinary VPS hosting.

Cloud storage and continuity services support file synchronization, encrypted backup, collaboration and disaster recovery. Entry-level storage starts around RM50/month for 100 GB, with larger packages extending into terabyte capacities.

Managed cloud administration is also available for infrastructure running with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Alibaba Cloud. Management can include monitoring, DNS administration, backups, disaster recovery, configuration and technical maintenance, allowing businesses to retain WebServer as their infrastructure administrator even when the underlying servers run on a major public-cloud platform.

Other services include Cloud VPN, starting around RM120/month for five accounts, and Business Email, starting around RM32/month for 25 GB storage and 15 mailboxes. Email Marketing, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 are also available. SSL certificates include products from GeoTrust, DigiCert, Symantec, Thawte and RapidSSL, covering DV, OV and EV certificate requirements.

Domain registration is particularly relevant for Malaysian customers. .MY domains are priced around RM120/year, while .COM.MY and .NET.MY registrations are around RM80/year. Acme Commerce/WebServer also handles the management of Malaysian domain names through its customer platform following the migration away from direct MYNIC SELFCARE management in July 2024.

The website is available in English, Vietnamese, French and German, while hosting products are primarily priced in Malaysian Ringgit (RM).
