Websavers is an independent Canadian web hosting and web-services company founded in 2004 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Founder and President Jordan Schelew remains involved in the business, while Allen Pooley serves as owner and Chief Operating Officer. The company has retained its independent structure rather than becoming part of a large international hosting group, and its team operates primarily from the Halifax and Dartmouth area.

The service is particularly suitable for Canadian individuals, small businesses, nonprofit organizations, developers and web agencies that value Canadian data residency, straightforward renewal pricing and access to experienced technical staff. Its portfolio includes Linux shared hosting, WordPress hosting, managed hosting, Linux VPS, Plesk reseller hosting, Exchange email, domain registration, SSL certificates, website design, WordPress repairs, performance optimization, SEO auditing and internet-radio hosting.

Shared hosting is organized into Helium, Carbon and Titanium packages. Helium is a small free hosting plan available with an active domain registration or transfer. It includes one website, 400 MB of storage, 5 GB of monthly data transfer, one small email account, one database and a free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate. Its limited resources make it most appropriate for a basic HTML site, a personal project or a very lightweight WordPress installation.

Carbon expands the account to 5 GB of storage, unlimited monthly transfer, 25 email accounts and five databases. Titanium includes 50 GB of storage, unlimited hosted domains, unlimited databases and unlimited email accounts, subject to individual mailbox limits. Titanium can also include the first year of an eligible primary-domain registration when the required billing conditions are met.

All shared plans can run WordPress, WooCommerce, membership applications and e-learning platforms. The hosting environment combines nginx reverse-proxy delivery, PHP-FPM, Brotli compression, HTTP/2, MariaDB, SSD or NVMe storage, malware scanning and web-application firewall protection. Current shared servers support PHP 8.1 through PHP 8.4, while hardened PHP 5.4, 5.6 and 7.4 versions remain available on selected systems for older applications. MariaDB 10.11 LTS is used across the current shared-hosting platform.

WordPress hosting uses the same underlying shared infrastructure rather than locking customers into a proprietary WordPress platform. Customers retain FTP, database and file-system access, making WordPress installations easier to back up, modify and transfer. Installatron handles one-click installation, importing, cloning, staging, updates and backups. WordPress installations can also be managed through the Websavers Client Centre.

SiteJet is available as an optional visual website builder with templates and drag-and-drop editing. WordPress with Beaver Builder remains the more portable choice because the completed website can be backed up and transferred to another compatible hosting provider without depending on a closed builder platform.

The VPS range uses OpenVZ 7 Linux containers with root SSH access. CPU, memory and storage resources can be upgraded or reduced without rebooting the container. The entry-level Aluminum plan includes one vCore, 2 GB RAM, 1 GB vSwap, 10 GB of RAID-protected SSD storage and 5 TB of monthly transfer. Larger Copper, Silver, Gold and Diamond configurations scale up to eight vCores, 16 GB RAM and 150 GB of storage.

These VPS plans can support WordPress and WooCommerce websites, reseller environments, application servers, mail platforms, file-synchronization systems, learning platforms, forums and persistent game worlds. Plesk, Installatron, Imunify360 and other commercial software can be added when required. The VPS platform is Linux-only and does not support Windows installations, custom operating-system kernels, customer-supplied ISO images or custom swap files.

Managed VPS service is available through Hands-On Support. This option covers initial configuration, security hardening, performance tuning, automatic operating-system and Plesk updates, service monitoring, incident response and assistance with the primary hosted website. It provides a practical middle ground for customers who need VPS resources but do not want to manage a Linux server entirely through the command line.

Plesk reseller hosting gives developers and agencies separate customer accounts, reusable service plans, subscriptions, branded nameservers and domain-level resource allocation. Three reseller packages are available, beginning with Resell 1 and extending through Resell 3. These plans are suitable for managing multiple independent customer accounts without accepting responsibility for root-level server administration.

Exchange email hosting includes synchronized email, contacts, calendars, tasks and shared resources. Mailboxes are available with either 50 GB or 300 GB of storage and include antivirus protection, antispam filtering, up to 1,000 aliases, up to 1,000 distribution groups and daily backups. Domains, mailboxes, aliases, distribution groups, spam settings and storage are controlled through the Client Centre rather than through unrestricted access to the complete Exchange administration console.

Domain-registration services include DNS management, domain locking, transfer-code retrieval and free domain privacy where the registry permits privacy protection. Free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates are included with hosting, while commercial certificates remain available for organization validation, wildcard coverage and other specialized requirements.

Website-development services range from a one-page SiteMaker project to Premium and Corporate WordPress packages. These are responsive, portable WordPress websites built with Beaver Builder, with the first year of suitable hosting and support included. WordPress repair services cover hacked websites, damaged databases, plugin conflicts, failed updates, performance problems and code-level errors. Standard optimization and repair work generally falls between CAD $49 and CAD $149, while larger development tasks require an individual quotation.

The company also provides introductory SEO assessments and a more comprehensive paid audit covering site-wide keyword research, competitor analysis and content opportunities. SHOUTcast and Icecast radio hosting remains available for broadcasters that need CentovaCast, AutoDJ, playlist management and live-stream controls.
