The service operates within INCUBATEC (incubatec.com), an independent and privately held South Tyrolean technology group founded by Thomas Moroder. The German operation also includes Webhosting24 GmbH in Munich, established in 2004.

INCUBATEC developed from a hosting business into a wider technology and infrastructure group with activities in hosting, cloud computing, domain services and related Internet infrastructure. The group operates from Italy and Germany and supports services across several international data-center regions. Another infrastructure-oriented brand within the group is Server24, which concentrates on server, cloud and enterprise infrastructure.

Webhosting24 has a much broader portfolio than conventional shared hosting alone.
