Webcentral is a full-service Australian provider for domains, hosting, email, websites, and online security. The trading entity is Netregistry Pty Ltd, ACN 080 859 721 and ABN 13 080 859 721. Its natural audience is the Australian small and midsize business market, including customers that would rather keep registration, hosting, mail, site creation, and technical assistance with one supplier than assemble those services separately.

There are two valid starting points in its history. The broader corporate lineage reaches back to the creation of Melbourne IT in 1996. The Webcentral operation itself began as NetRegistry in 1997, and Netregistry Pty Ltd was incorporated on November 25 of that year. Larry Bloch co-founded Netregistry and served as chief executive and chair for 17 years. In 2014, Melbourne IT agreed to acquire Netregistry Group for AUD 50.4 million. Netregistry and WME were consolidated under the Webcentral identity in 2021.

More recent ownership explains the international dimension now visible in the service range. Oakley Capital (oakleycapitalinvestments.com) invested in the carved-out Webcentral business in 2023.
