Web4U is an established Czech web hosting, domain-registration and server-infrastructure provider founded in 2000 by Martin Kukačka and Lukáš Kunovský. The company is headquartered in Prague and became part of Miss Group in July 2022, when the international hosting group completed its first acquisition in the Czech Republic.

At the time of the acquisition, Web4U served more than 15,000 public-sector organizations and small-to-medium businesses, employed 11 people and had generated CZK 38 million in annual revenue. The company now falls within the 11–50 employee range, manages approximately 68,000 domains and operates more than 800 servers.

Its service portfolio covers domain registration, free entry-level hosting, shared Linux hosting, email hosting, Linux and Windows virtual servers, dedicated servers, managed servers, server housing, backup storage, server monitoring, DNS, SSL certificates, website builders and VPN access. This broad structure makes it possible to begin with a basic domain or shared-hosting account and later move to VPS, managed infrastructure or dedicated hardware without changing providers.

Domain registration is one of the company’s most developed services. Web4U supports a wide selection of Czech, European and generic extensions, together with online DNS management, free DNSSEC for .CZ and .EU domains, IPv6, email and SMS expiration notifications, registrar transfers and contact-detail management.

Every registered domain can use the free Vizitka package. This entry-level service includes a basic editable webpage, one email address, Webmail and unlimited domain aliases. It provides a practical starting point for individuals and small organizations that need an online presence without purchasing a complete hosting package.

Companies managing at least five domains can join the domain partner program. The program operates through a prepaid account with a minimum CZK 1,000 deposit, while the partner assumes responsibility for supporting its own end customers. A SOAP-based Domain API is available for automated registration and administration. It remains suitable for established integrations, although some documentation and PHP examples belong to an older generation of the platform.

Shared web hosting is divided into MINI, BASIC, HIT, OPTIMAL and KOMPLET packages. SSD storage ranges from 4 GB to 200 GB, while mailbox allowances increase from 10 accounts on the smallest plan to unlimited mailboxes on KOMPLET. Depending on the selected package, customers receive MariaDB databases, PostgreSQL support, cron jobs, FTP accounts, domain aliases, subdomains, AWStats statistics and progressively higher PHP memory limits.

The hosting environment uses Debian Linux, Apache 2.4, Nginx, PHP 7.4 and newer PHP 8 releases, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Postfix, Dovecot, ClamAV and SpamAssassin. Traffic is unlimited for ordinary websites, although exceptionally demanding projects or services centered on large file downloads may require individual approval.

WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and PrestaShop can be installed automatically. Web4U also provides the BaseKit Website Builder, allowing customers to create websites visually without coding and to operate relatively simple online stores. The newer WordPress AI Builder can generate an initial WordPress website that remains fully editable through the standard WordPress administration interface.

A .CZ domain is included free for the first year with BASIC or any higher shared-hosting package. Let’s Encrypt certificates can be activated for the main domain and its subdomains. Customers requiring a separate commercial certificate can use SNI hosting for an additional fee.

Mail Hosting is available independently for customers who need professional domain-based email without a full website package. It includes 10 GB of initial storage, unlimited mailboxes, POP3, IMAP and SMTP with SSL/TLS encryption, antivirus protection, intelligent spam filtering and unlimited data transfer. Additional storage can be purchased as the account grows.

The server portfolio is much broader than a conventional shared-hosting catalog. Linux VPS plans use KVM/QEMU virtualization and include root access, while Windows VPS plans use Hyper-V with Windows Server 2022 and administrator access through Remote Desktop. Virtual servers include IPv4 connectivity, IPv6 availability, unlimited monthly traffic and configurations suitable for applications, databases, development environments and multihosting projects.

Dedicated servers use Supermicro (supermicro.com) hardware and can be configured with Intel Xeon or AMD EPYC processors, ECC memory, SATA SSD or NVMe storage and remote IPMI access. Hardware servicing is included with rented dedicated systems, and the available configurations extend from standard business servers to high-core-count AMD EPYC platforms.

Customers who prefer not to administer an operating system themselves can choose Managed VPS or Managed Dedicated Servers. Managed plans include system administration, continuous monitoring and daily backups. Additional administration can also be ordered by the hour for self-managed VPS and dedicated infrastructure.

Server housing is available for customer-owned equipment. Packages include rack space, power and 1 Gbps NIX and transit connectivity, with optional redundant power connections, additional IP addresses, IPv6, IPMI and temporary KVM access. Hardware replacement, disk changes and other remote-hands work can be arranged when physical intervention is necessary.

The optional backup service stores customer data on redundant disk arrays and retains two daily, two weekly and two monthly copies. Active server monitoring and additional IP addresses are also available as separate services.

The VPN service is supplied through PrivateVPN, another Miss Group company. It supports up to ten devices, unlimited bandwidth, AES-256 encryption and applications for Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. Its network includes more than 200 servers in approximately 63 countries and supports OpenVPN, IKEv2, L2TP/IPsec and several other connection methods.

Web4U is primarily focused on the Czech market. Czech is the main website, administration and support language, with partial English and Slovak localization. An English contact area and domain-registration interface exist, but some product links lead back to Czech-language sections. International customers should therefore expect a Czech-first ordering and account-management experience.

Prices are displayed in Czech koruna, normally both excluding and including 21% VAT. The platform remains functional and information-rich, although modernization is uneven. Newer support resources coexist with older fixed-width product sections, legacy infrastructure references and dated API examples. Ordering and service administration remain practical, but the experience is less consistent than on recently rebuilt hosting platforms.
