Wantete was a French web hosting provider founded in August 2014 in Nantes, France. The company expanded internationally from 2015 and developed a relatively broad portfolio covering shared hosting, WordPress hosting, reseller hosting, virtual servers, domain registration, SSL certificates, email security and website-related services.

Wantete is no longer an active hosting provider. All services permanently closed on January 1, 2026, so its former hosting plans and server products are relevant only as historical offerings.

The product range covered Shared Hosting, WordPress Hosting, Reseller Hosting, VPS, Domains, SSL Certificates, Email Security, Website Creation and Server Management. Additional services included SEO tools and other WHMCS-integrated products for website owners and resellers.

The Shared Hosting platform used SSD storage together with cPanel, CloudLinux, Imunify360, LiteSpeed, SpamExperts, SitePad and JetBackup. Hosting configurations included free SSL certificates, website migration, MySQL databases, FTP and email accounts, SSH access, cron jobs, phpMyAdmin and one-click application installation. Entry-level shared hosting started around €1.99 per month, while other historical configurations included Free, Starter, Personal and Business packages.

WordPress Hosting started around €2.99 per month. Packages combined WordPress-oriented hosting with a domain name, SSL certificate, CloudLinux, email accounts, databases, FTP accounts and automated backups. Security included brute-force protection, while technical assistance was available through chat and tickets.

The Reseller Hosting range included ONE-R and TWO-R. ONE-R provided 20 cPanel accounts, 50 GB SSD storage and 500 GB bandwidth, while TWO-R increased the allocation to 40 cPanel accounts, 100 GB SSD storage and 1 TB bandwidth. Resellers received cPanel/WHM, WHMCS, custom nameservers, DNS administration, SSL management, Softaculous and white-label functionality. They could create their own hosting packages and establish their own retail pricing.

Wantete also maintained a substantial VPS range using LXC, KVM and Xen virtualization. Plans included SSD storage and one IPv4 address, with additional addresses available. Configurations ranged from approximately 1 GB to 8 GB RAM, 10 GB to 80 GB SSD storage and 500 GB to 8 TB monthly transfer depending on the virtualization platform. LXC packages historically started around €4.99 per month, while KVM and Xen configurations generally started at higher prices.

Windows-oriented virtual servers were also available through Xen and Virtuozzo configurations. VPS packages were mainly self-managed, although custom managed configurations could include cPanel, Plesk or DirectAdmin.

The Domain Registration catalog covered traditional extensions and a large selection of newer generic TLDs, with separate registration, renewal and transfer prices.

Wantete also supplied SSL Certificates from brands including RapidSSL, GeoTrust and DigiCert. Certificate categories included Domain Validation, Organization Validation, Extended Validation and Wildcard products.

Email-related services included incoming spam and malware filtering, outgoing email filtering and email archiving. Technical administration services covered server hardening, CSF firewall configuration, PHP, MySQL and Apache upgrades, cPanel/WHM administration, Nginx reverse-proxy configuration and recovery work for compromised or damaged servers.

The storefront supported EUR and USD. French and English were available for the main hosting operation, while the WHMCS customer area supported a much larger collection of localized interfaces including Arabic, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, German, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Macedonian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Ukrainian.

The website retained an older WHMCS-era design and structure, with several generations of hosting products remaining alongside newer configurations. This also resulted in some differences between historical package specifications and pricing.
