Volia is one of Ukraine’s best-known telecommunications companies, with a history dating to June 1, 2002. Its data-center division has operated since 2006, giving it considerably more infrastructure experience than a typical VPS reseller. The wider business developed around internet access, television and corporate connectivity, while Volia Data Center concentrates on cloud servers, physical servers, business infrastructure and equipment colocation.

The corporate structure changed significantly over the years. Datagroup (datagroup.ua) completed its acquisition of Volia in June 2021, supported by USD 65 million in EBRD financing. On September 9, 2024, NJJ Holding became the owner of Datagroup-Volia and lifecell, beginning the formation of a combined fixed-line, mobile and digital-services group under the management of Mykhailo Shelemba. This gives Volia’s infrastructure operation the financial and network backing of a much larger Ukrainian telecommunications organization.

Volia is not a conventional shared-hosting company. Its main products are CloudServer, Dedicated Servers, Colocation, Windows-based business servers and customized enterprise infrastructure. Standard shared Linux hosting, bundled domain registration, website builders and entry-level email-hosting packages are not part of its main catalog.

CloudServer is the closest option to a standard VPS. It provides ready-to-use virtual machines that can be ordered and controlled through an online client area. The three standard configurations are:

• HELPER: 1 vCPU at 2.1 GHz, 2 GB RAM and 40 GB storage.
• ASSISTANT: 2 vCPU at 2.1 GHz, 4 GB RAM and 40 GB storage.
• COACH: 4 vCPU at 2.1 GHz, 8 GB RAM and 40 GB storage.

Each package includes an unmetered 100 Mbps connection and one IP address. A custom configurator allows customers to increase processor capacity, memory and storage, with support for up to four virtual disks.

Available operating-system templates include Debian 12 Cloud, Ubuntu 22.04 Cloud and Ubuntu 20.04 Cloud. Older CentOS 7, Ubuntu 18.04 and Debian 10 images also remain available, together with Windows Server 2016 and 2019 evaluation editions. Debian 12 and Ubuntu 22.04 are the more appropriate choices for new production workloads, while Windows users should confirm the applicable licensing arrangement before deployment.

The Dedicated Server range provides full administrative access, monthly hardware rental and options for replacing or upgrading physical components. Servers are available in Ukraine and Poland, with Linux, BSD and no-OS installation choices. Standard packages include an unmetered 100 Mbps port, while 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps upgrades are available.

The entry-level dedicated configuration uses a Pentium G6950 platform, while larger packages use Xeon E-2224/E3-1220, Xeon E-2236/E3-1230 or dual Xeon Silver 4208/E5-2620 processors. Some configurations use earlier-generation hardware, so database servers, virtualization platforms, high-traffic websites and demanding business applications should be matched carefully to the exact CPU, disk condition and replacement terms. RAM, SSDs, large SATA disks and hardware RAID controllers can be added when supported by the selected chassis.

SmartOffice combines a dedicated server with Windows Server for accounting applications, CRM systems, shared documents and remote employee access. Larger configurations include Remote Desktop licenses and more powerful hardware. This is a practical option for Ukrainian companies that need centralized Windows applications without maintaining a physical server inside the office.

HeavyData covers customized high-performance infrastructure for architecture, engineering, design, analytics and data-intensive workloads. Configurations may include GPU acceleration, modern processors, RAID storage, large disk arrays, specialized cooling and multi-user access. These systems are assembled according to individual technical requirements rather than sold through fixed retail packages.

Volia also supplies virtualized Cisco network and security products through a monthly MSLA model. Available functions include virtual firewalls, VPN access, routing and cloud traffic monitoring. These services are mainly intended for corporate networks and complement dedicated-server and colocation environments.

Colocation is available for individual rackmount or tower servers and for 11U, 21U and 42U allocations. Standard packages include power, an unmetered 100 Mbps connection and IP addressing. Larger rack packages can accommodate customer autonomous-system announcements. Authorized contacts receive 24/7 access to their equipment, with technical assistance available around the clock.

The service is primarily oriented toward Ukrainian customers. Some older technical content remains available in Russian, while a complete English interface does not exist. Prices are displayed in Ukrainian hryvnia, making the service particularly convenient for Ukrainian individuals and companies that require domestic billing and accounting documentation.
