📄 Editorial Review
VEXXHOST is a Canadian cloud infrastructure company headquartered in Montréal, Quebec, with a long-standing focus on open-source cloud technologies. Its history goes back to 2005-2006, with 2006 generally used for the formal beginning of the hosting business and 2005 associated with the start of its Montréal operations. The company was founded by Khaled Naser, president and founder, together with Mohammed Naser, CEO and co-founder. It remains privately held and Canadian-owned.VEXXHOST started as a more conventional hosting provider, but its direction changed substantially as cloud computing matured. OpenStack entered production in 2011, Ceph followed in 2015, and Kubernetes became part of the infrastructure stack in 2018. Today, VEXXHOST is much closer to an OpenStack and cloud engineering specialist than a traditional shared hosting provider.
Its main services include OpenStack Public Cloud, Private Cloud, Ceph Storage, Kubernetes, MigrateKit, Zuul, GPU Infrastructure, AI Inference and AI Advisory. Customers can consume infrastructure hosted by VEXXHOST, deploy equivalent environments inside their own facilities, or use supported and fully managed operating models.
OpenStack Public Cloud is the simplest entry point. It provides virtual machines together with block storage, object storage, file storage, networking, DNS, images, identity management, key management, orchestration and load balancing. Instances are billed by the minute, and both x86 and Arm systems are available. IPv6, private networking, floating IPs, snapshots, custom images, security groups and API access make the environment suitable for both individual developers and automated production deployments.
Private Cloud is aimed at organizations that need dedicated OpenStack infrastructure. It can run in VEXXHOST facilities or on customer-owned premises and can combine virtual machines, bare metal, Kubernetes, Ceph storage, GPUs and networking under the same open platform. Customers can operate the environment themselves with engineering support or delegate deployment, monitoring, upgrades and incident handling through the fully managed option.
Ceph is one of the strongest parts of the portfolio. VEXXHOST has operated production Ceph environments since 2015 and supports RBD block storage, S3-compatible object storage and CephFS shared file storage. Hosted and on-premises installations are available without proprietary per-TB licensing. More than 5 PB of Ceph storage is managed across customer environments, and the company's operational history covers numerous major Ceph generations.
Kubernetes uses upstream Kubernetes rather than a proprietary distribution. Deployments can run on VEXXHOST infrastructure, customer hardware or external public clouds such as AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure. Customers can retain day-to-day operational control while receiving engineering support, or use a fully managed service covering deployment, patches, monitoring, upgrades and incident response.
MigrateKit provides a practical migration route from VMware environments to OpenStack. It handles virtual-machine conversion and migration while helping organizations preserve existing workloads instead of rebuilding applications around a proprietary cloud platform. Migration projects can include assessment, testing, conversion, validation and final cutover.
Zuul adds managed CI/CD and project-gating capabilities. It is particularly useful for development teams with interdependent repositories because related changes can be validated together before being merged. This is a specialized service, but it fits naturally with VEXXHOST's broader involvement in open-source infrastructure engineering.
The company has also expanded into GPU Infrastructure and artificial intelligence. Dedicated GPU environments can be hosted by VEXXHOST or installed on customer hardware, with networking, storage, provisioning and lifecycle management integrated around them. AI Inference provides managed inference endpoints for open, commercial or custom models, while AI Advisory covers architecture planning, use-case selection, implementation and ongoing operation.
VEXXHOST's legal terms still include references to shared hosting, reseller hosting, VPS and dedicated servers, reflecting the company's earlier hosting business. These are no longer central to the active 2026 product range, which is now focused on cloud platforms, infrastructure engineering, Kubernetes, storage and AI.
The service is primarily operated in English, and standard Public Cloud pricing is quoted in USD. VEXXHOST is therefore best suited to developers, SaaS companies, research organizations and enterprises that need OpenStack, Kubernetes, distributed storage, private cloud or infrastructure engineering rather than conventional entry-level website hosting.
