VegaSystems is a German B2B hosting, cloud, colocation and IT infrastructure provider headquartered in Paderborn, North Rhine-Westphalia. The company was founded on January 30, 1997 and has developed from a regional internet and hosting business into an infrastructure provider operating its own data centers, network resources and managed IT platforms. Tobias Altemeier and Sascha Fleiss are the managing directors.

The decision to build proprietary data-center infrastructure dates back to 1999, giving VegaSystems a considerably longer infrastructure history than many hosting companies that depend entirely on rented wholesale capacity. Today the portfolio combines shared web hosting, cloud/VPS servers, managed cloud, dedicated servers, colocation, e-commerce hosting, Nextcloud, backup, email hosting, Hosted Exchange, Microsoft 365, domains, IT security, DDoS protection, managed IT and business connectivity.

The Green Web Hosting platform is aimed primarily at companies, agencies and professional websites. Green Web M includes two vHosts, 20 GB storage, two FTP users and five databases. Green Web L expands this to five vHosts and 75 GB, XL provides ten vHosts and 150 GB, while Max includes 20 vHosts and 200 GB. A Green Custom option is available for projects that need a different resource profile.

Shared hosting runs on redundant IBM cluster infrastructure and includes container isolation, DNS management, selectable PHP versions, selectable database versions and SSL support. Daily backups are included, with the backup-retention period increasing on larger packages. Supported applications include WordPress, TYPO3, Drupal, Joomla, NEOS and Contao, while commercial shop environments can accommodate Magento 2/Adobe Commerce, Shopware, OXID, Intershop and similar platforms.

The hosting platform carries 99.99% availability, making it suitable for business websites where conventional budget shared hosting would provide too little redundancy.

The Green Cloud VRoot range provides the VPS/cloud-server layer. Entry configurations begin with one AMD or Xeon processor core, 1 GB ECC RAM, 25 GB of triple-redundant enterprise SSD storage and a 100 Mbit/s connection. Larger standard configurations increase this to multiple CPU cores, up to 8 GB RAM and 250 GB storage, while individually designed systems can reach 64 CPU cores, 384 GB ECC RAM and multiple 10GE connections.

VRoot servers include fixed IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, root/SSH access and DNS administration. Storage is triple redundant, and bandwidth operates under the FairFlat model. Short-term traffic peaks are evaluated against longer-term average consumption rather than automatically producing immediate excess-traffic charges, which can be particularly useful for seasonal websites, campaigns and business applications with irregular load patterns.

Businesses that prefer to avoid day-to-day server administration can use VRoot Managed and broader managed-cloud services. VegaSystems can handle migration, integration, operating-system maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting and ongoing infrastructure management. Virtualization and cloud environments can be based on VMware, Proxmox, XEN and OpenStack, while external platforms such as AWS can be incorporated into hybrid infrastructure. More than 3,000 active cloud instances operate within the cloud environment.

The Business Shop Hosting range is designed specifically for commercial e-commerce projects. Managed Business Shop packages provide clustered infrastructure for platforms such as Adobe Commerce/Magento, Shopware, Shopify, PrestaShop, osCommerce, OXID and Intershop. Larger Premium Shop environments allocate more CPU, RAM, SSD capacity and network resources and can be combined with managed firewall and security services.

Managed Nextcloud provides hosted collaboration, file synchronization and document sharing inside German data centers. It can combine storage and file sharing with calendars, mail, chat and video functions. VegaSystems can also take responsibility for installation, integration, customization, updates and technical operation.

Dedicated Servers are built around business-grade Lenovo or IBM hardware using Intel Xeon or AMD processors, ECC memory, SSD storage and redundant power supplies. Customers can administer the equipment themselves through out-of-band management interfaces or combine the hardware with managed administration. Dedicated systems can be rented, purchased or leased, which is useful for companies that have specific accounting or infrastructure-ownership requirements.

Colocation is a major part of the business. Customers can install individual servers, half racks or complete racks in the Paderborn and Bielefeld facilities. Full cabinets are available with up to 47U, power configurations can reach 6 x 16A, and connectivity ranges from 100 Mbit/s to 100 Gbit/s. IPv4 and IPv6 resources, redundant switching, private networks, VPN/MPLS connectivity and Remote Hands can all be incorporated into a colocation deployment.

The email portfolio is broader than that of a conventional hosting company. Secure Green Mail provides POP3, SMTP, IMAP and webmail with SSL/TLS, daily backup, aliases, forwarding, spam filtering, malware protection and PGP/S/MIME capabilities. Standard packages cover between 20 and 200 accounts, with customized configurations available when needed.

Hosted Exchange runs on Microsoft Exchange infrastructure located in Germany. It supports Outlook Web Access, ActiveSync, IMAP, encrypted connections and enhanced spam and malware filtering. Mailboxes range from small entry-level accounts to 25 GB configurations, while custom storage sizes can be arranged. Outlook and Office licensing, together with compliant email archiving, can also be integrated.

Companies running their own mail infrastructure can use Business SMTP Mailrelay, including mail queuing, failover, spam and virus protection and dedicated relay capacity for higher-volume mail requirements. Other communication and office services include Microsoft 365 consulting and administration, Hosted Windows desktops, terminal-server environments, MailStore archiving and email encryption.

Backup services are available independently of web hosting. Green BackupSpace provides scalable storage within German infrastructure, while Managed Backup Service adds monitoring, backup scheduling and restoration services for Windows and Linux systems. Managed backup can also be used with customer-owned hardware.

The security portfolio includes DDoS protection, IDS/IPS systems, managed firewalls and endpoint protection. Baseline DDoS protection is supplemented by higher-grade filtering options for volumetric, protocol-based and Layer-7 attacks. Acronis Cyber Protect and ThreatDown services are also available as part of the wider managed-security offering.

VegaSystems is also active as a business connectivity provider around Paderborn. Fiber, Dark Fiber and microwave connectivity can connect customer offices directly to its data-center infrastructure. Microwave links can reach approximately 1.7 Gbit/s, while fiber customers can use high-capacity multi-carrier connectivity.

The website is available in German and English, and commercial pricing is shown in EUR. Some English-language areas retain German naming conventions, but the principal hosting, cloud, colocation and managed-service information is available in English. The overall service is designed primarily for professional and corporate customers rather than low-cost personal hosting.
