Vautron Rechenzentrum AG is a German business hosting, domain, cloud and data-center operator headquartered in Regensburg, Bavaria. Founded in 1999, the company has built a particularly strong position in the German professional hosting and domain-reseller market. The management board consists of Martin Kluge and Robert Spandl, while the business model is focused exclusively on commercial customers and organizations rather than private consumers.

Domains remain one of Vautron's most important business areas. The company manages more than 1.1 million domains, works with several thousand partner providers and supports more than 500 TLDs. Its registrar activities include relationships with organizations and registries such as ICANN, RIPE NCC and Nominet. The Domains at Cost Price service is especially useful for hosting providers, web agencies and professional domain resellers because it combines competitive registry-level pricing with free nameserver use, a sub-user-capable Domain Robot and API access for automated provisioning. Real-time registrations are possible where supported by the respective registry.

The server portfolio is centered on Cloud Servers and dedicated AMD Ryzen hardware. Cloud configurations range from entry-level systems with 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 25 GB SSD storage and unlimited traffic up to considerably larger systems with 32 vCPU, 64 GB RAM and 380 GB SSD storage. Additional IPv4 addresses, redundant storage, high-availability configurations and managed administration can be added when required. VPS services remain part of the hosting portfolio, although the actively promoted virtual infrastructure is primarily organized under the Cloud Server range.

The Dedicated Server range uses AMD Ryzen processors, ECC memory and NVMe storage. Ryzen Basic uses a Ryzen 5 5600X with 16 GB ECC RAM and two 250 GB NVMe drives in RAID 1. Ryzen Advanced increases the allocation to 32 GB ECC RAM and two 500 GB NVMe drives, while Ryzen Premium uses a Ryzen 7 5700X, 64 GB ECC RAM and two 1 TB NVMe drives. IPMI 2.0 remote administration is included with the main dedicated configurations. Advanced and Premium include unlimited traffic, while the Basic package includes 1 TB of monthly traffic. Higher configurations also include monthly Hands-On administration time and additional domain-reseller benefits.

Virtualization is one of Vautron's strongest technical areas. As an official Proxmox (proxmox.com) partner, the company supplies multi-node high-availability Proxmox clusters based on its dedicated Ryzen hardware. Standard clusters begin with three nodes and are available in Basic, Advanced and Premium variants. They can be operated unmanaged or combined with host management and Proxmox Backup storage.

Proxmox subscriptions are also available independently, ranging from Community subscriptions through Premium levels with access to the Enterprise Repository and increasing vendor-support entitlements.

The Managed Proxmox Cloud targets organizations that need a larger private virtualization platform or want to migrate from VMware. A standard setup starts with at least three nodes using AMD Ryzen 9 9950X processors, 192 GB ECC RAM per node and two 4 TB NVMe drives configured in RAID 1. Host management is included, Proxmox Backup capacity can be added, and VMware migrations can be handled without a separate migration charge when technically feasible.

Vautron also operates an ISP Reselling Proxmox Cluster concept intended for hosting providers and infrastructure resellers. This combines multiple virtualization nodes, high availability, failover functionality and reseller-oriented administration, making it closer to private-cloud infrastructure than conventional VPS hosting.

Storage products include S3 Cloud Storage and Cloud Space. S3 storage is available on SSD and HDD infrastructure with capacities ranging from 100 GB to 10 TB. The platform uses CEPH storage with automatic redundancy and multiple copies of stored data. Traffic and API requests are included in the packaged S3 pricing. It is suitable for backups, archives, media repositories, CI/CD environments and applications compatible with the S3 API. Common tools such as rclone, s3cmd, Cyberduck, Restic, Nextcloud, MinIO, Veeam and Synology Hyper Backup can work with the service.

Cloud Space provides scalable German storage accessible through FTP, SFTP, SCP and WebDAV, together with API access. Storage capacity is billed according to average consumption, external traffic is metered separately and internal data transfer is free. There is no fixed contract duration. The underlying CEPH architecture is designed without a single point of failure and uses high-speed internal connectivity.

Physical infrastructure customers can use Server Housing / Colocation services. Configurations include 2U housing, 20U half racks, 42U full racks and customized installations. IP address allocations, emergency support and optional backup arrangements can be incorporated into these solutions.

Security products include SSL Certificates for both individual domains and wildcard use. Validation can be completed through email, HTTP or DNS, customers can supply their own CSR, and automatic DNS validation is possible when Vautron nameservers are used. Certificate administration and renewal reminders are handled through the customer interface. Certificate options include products from RapidSSL.

The Managed Service is useful for customers that want Vautron to handle operating-system maintenance rather than maintaining the server internally. It includes operating-system and security updates, agreed major upgrades, installation and maintenance of administration software, backup checks, maintenance of common software, hardware replacement on dedicated systems and priority support. Monitoring can cover RAID status, disk utilization, processor and memory usage, mail queues and network services such as HTTP, SMTP, IMAP, POP3, SSH, FTP and DNS.

The separate Hands-On Service gives customers access to technical administration without requiring a permanent managed-service contract. Administrators can perform operating-system and security updates, hardware changes, control-panel updates, backup checks and restores, software installation and migration assistance. Charges depend on the administration time required.

Vautron also provides a free DynDNS service with IPv4 and IPv6 support, user-selected subdomains, compatibility with the DynDNS2 protocol and a choice of up to 50 domain names. Personal registration information is not required. Inactive DynDNS accounts can be removed after 12 months.

Another specialized product is Mailrepo E-Mail Archiving, aimed at German businesses with regulatory and retention requirements. Processing and storage remain in Germany, while the service incorporates encryption, integrity protection, compliance-oriented archiving and AI-assisted searching.

Overall, Vautron is considerably more infrastructure-oriented than a conventional shared-hosting provider. Classic low-cost retail shared hosting is not the central focus. Its strongest areas are professional domain management, reseller automation, virtual and dedicated servers, Proxmox infrastructure, storage, managed administration and colocation.

The website is primarily available in German, and no complete multi-language/localized version exists. Prices are offered in EUR and are generally shown excluding German VAT. The website has a modern layout suitable for current desktop and mobile devices.
