Variomedia AG is a long-established German domain registrar and web hosting provider headquartered in Potsdam. The company was founded in 2000 by Marten Lehmann and Justus Pilgrim, with August 14, 2000 marking the registration of the original Variomedia IT-Service GmbH. The business later became an Aktiengesellschaft, and both founders remain members of the management board.

Variomedia is particularly suitable for customers who want domains and hosting under German jurisdiction while avoiding the very large mass-market hosting groups. Its portfolio covers domain registration, Linux shared hosting, managed dedicated hosting, reseller hosting, email hosting, groupware, DNS, SSL certificates, hosted collaboration applications and migration services. Its server products concentrate mainly on managed environments where administration, security updates, backups and maintenance remain the provider's responsibility.

Domain registration is one of Variomedia's strongest areas. The company is a DENIC member and an ICANN-accredited registrar, with a catalog covering more than 700 TLDs. Customers can manage traditional extensions, country-code domains, industry-specific namespaces and newer generic extensions from the same account. DNS management supports A, AAAA, ALIAS, CAA, CNAME, MX, NAPTR, NS, PTR, SRV, TLSA and TXT records, together with DNSSEC, DynDNS and API access. The Anycast DNS infrastructure distributes DNS service across multiple international locations, improving resilience and response times. Integrations are also available for services including Cloudflare and AWS Route 53.

The Easy.Hosting range handles conventional Linux shared hosting. Easy.A through Easy.D provide between 10 GB and 40 GB of SSD storage, with prices starting at €3 per month.
