U.S.NEXT, previously known as U.S. NetworX, is a privately held web development, hosting, data center and managed IT company headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi. The business was incorporated in 2001, while members of its management team had already been working together since 1998 and had experience with Internet services dating back to 1997.

David Crawford serves as CEO, supported by specialists in operations, managed services, graphic design, project management, database programming, PHP development and Microsoft .NET technologies. The company has fewer than 30 employees and serves more than 600 customers across 21 U.S. states, including businesses, government agencies, nonprofit organizations and professional firms.

Several acquisitions helped expand the business during its early years. GMI joined the company in September 2003, followed by WebDCI in November 2003, DEDAC Communications in June 2004 and Turnkey Hosting in December 2004. A merger with D2 Interactive was completed in June 2005, strengthening its Windows hosting, database development and web design capabilities.

Full Service Hosting is the most distinctive hosting option. The technical team handles website uploads, email accounts, FTP access, DNS records and general server administration. Both Windows and Linux environments are supported, together with PHP, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, .NET, ASP, CGI and legacy ColdFusion applications.

This managed approach is particularly useful for organizations without an internal system administrator. Customers can rely on the same company for infrastructure, application development, website maintenance and ongoing technical support instead of coordinating several unrelated providers.

The VPS service is fully managed and runs on redundant server and storage platforms. The architecture is designed to reduce the risk of an individual hardware failure taking an entire virtual server offline. Website migration, technical assistance and five IP addresses are included, while additional IP addresses can be requested when justified.

Physical dedicated servers are also available for applications that require isolated hardware or cannot operate properly in a virtualized environment. Server Colocation allows customers to retain control over their own server hardware and software while U.S.NEXT provides rack space, redundant Internet connectivity, backup power and environmental protection. Five IP addresses are included as standard. Monitoring, operating-system maintenance, backup management and extended server administration can be added when required.

Customers who prefer a conventional shared-hosting environment can use the separate self-service platform. Managed customers receive more direct involvement from the Jackson technical team, while domain registration is handled through a dedicated customer portal.

Web development remains closely integrated with the hosting operation. Custom websites include responsive layouts, editable content-management systems and scalable architecture. More advanced projects can include custom databases, online applications, customer portals and integrations with existing business systems.

E-commerce development can cover online catalogs, automated sales, payment processing and product administration. Landing-page services include campaign tracking, traffic reporting and search optimization. Private intranets can include calendars, document sharing, employee directories, training materials, internal forms, room reservations and department-specific sections.

Managed IT services extend beyond web hosting into network monitoring, workstation administration, help-desk support, backup recovery, cloud desktops, cloud file services and onsite assistance. Desktop Core Security combines centrally managed antivirus, Windows patching, third-party software updates, system monitoring and monthly reporting.

The company is better suited to organizations seeking direct technical involvement than customers looking only for the cheapest shared-hosting package.
