Tuxis is a Dutch hosting, cloud infrastructure, colocation and managed Proxmox specialist headquartered in Ede, the Netherlands. The company was founded in 2010 and developed around privacy-conscious infrastructure, open-source virtualization and high-availability hosting rather than the conventional mass-market shared-hosting model. The operating entity is Tuxis B.V.

Its portfolio covers Shared Web Hosting, VPS, Dedicated Proxmox Server, Private Cloud, Virtual Datacenter, Colocation, Domains, DNS, SSL Certificates, S3/Bulk Storage, Proxmox Backup, FilesOnline cloud collaboration, Email services and managed Proxmox infrastructure. A particularly important specialization is Proxmox (proxmox.com) combined with Ceph storage. Tuxis is an official Proxmox Hosting partner and also provides managed clusters, Proxmox subscriptions, support contracts, consultancy, Mail Gateway services, monitoring, analytics and Proxmox training.

Shared Web Hosting follows a simple commercial model. One package costs €10 per month excluding VAT and includes unlimited data traffic and disk space under sensible-use conditions, daily website backups, MySQL with phpMyAdmin, PHP, .htaccess support, cron jobs, SFTP and SSH access. Website data is distributed across three datacenters for additional resilience. Customers exceeding what is reasonable for the shared environment can move to a more appropriate platform instead of being constrained by small artificial traffic or storage allowances.

The VPS platform is more infrastructure-oriented than conventional fixed hosting packages. Customers can configure systems with 1 to 8 CPU cores, 1 to 32 GB RAM and 20 to 1,000 GB SSD storage, while larger configurations are available for projects requiring more capacity. Prices start at €13 per month. IPv4 and IPv6, private networks, snapshots, console access and usage monitoring are included. VPS data is stored in real time across three Dutch datacenters, while encrypted backups are stored approximately 60 kilometers from the production environment.

Standard VPS backup retention includes recent daily backups, weekly copies and a monthly restore point. An Extra Backup option increases the backup frequency to four times per day and provides longer retention, making the service suitable for customers that need more granular recovery points.

Dedicated Proxmox Server provides dedicated virtualization infrastructure with SSD storage and optional NVMe. The integrated Proxmox environment manages virtual machines, containers, networking, software-defined storage and high-availability configurations. Two or more dedicated systems can be synchronized between datacenters and combined with HA. Proactive monitoring and maintenance can also be included, making this platform closer to a managed private virtualization environment than a traditional standalone dedicated server.

The Tuxis Corporate Cloud, or TCC, is a private virtual datacenter distributed in real time across three datacenters. Compute and storage resources can be expanded without downtime, while infrastructure is not shared with unrelated customers. Tuxis handles proactive maintenance and 24x7 monitoring. The architecture is designed to reduce both hardware requirements and power consumption compared with more traditional private-cloud deployments.

TCC Edge extends the private-cloud model to a customer-selected datacenter or another suitable location. This is particularly useful for organizations with specific data-sovereignty, latency or infrastructure-location requirements while still wanting the Proxmox-based Tuxis cloud architecture.

Backup and storage form another major part of the business. Proxmox Backup Server Cloud provides encrypted Proxmox backup storage in Ede, Amsterdam and Düsseldorf. Data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before leaving the originating system, while SHA-256 checksums protect data integrity. Standard storage costs €21 per TB per month, without additional setup, traffic or license charges. PBS Sync adds synchronization capabilities, while dedicated NVMe-based PBS Flash infrastructure is available when faster backup and restore performance is required.

daDup is the company's general-purpose bulk-storage platform. It supports SMB, FTPS, SSH/SFTP and the Amazon S3 protocol, allowing it to work with backup software, NAS devices and S3-compatible applications. Data is stored in triplicate in the Netherlands and the platform is monitored continuously. Traffic, PUT and GET operations do not carry separate usage charges. daDup redundancy protects the active storage platform, but the storage itself should not be confused with an independent secondary backup of the data.

FilesOnline provides hosted collaboration based on Nextcloud (nextcloud.com). The service combines file synchronization and sharing with versioning, deleted-file recovery, Talk chat and video, Deck planning, shared document editing and administrator management. Pricing starts at €3.35 per user per month, with 25 GB of additional storage included for each created user. Additional storage costs €0.20 per GB, while collaborative online Office editing is available for an additional €1.90 per user per month.

Tuxis also operates the tuxis.email service using IceWarp, while Kerio-based cloud email administration remains available within parts of the customer environment.

Domain services cover more than 1,100 TLDs, giving customers a broad range of international and country-code extensions. DNS hosting and the NSEdit management interface are included with domain services, while domains and DNS records can increasingly be administered through the main Tuxis cloud portal.

SSL Certificates start at €25 per year, including standard domain-validation certificates and wildcard options. This makes it possible to combine hosting, domains, DNS and certificate management within the same provider.

Another useful Proxmox-oriented service is Insights for Proxmox, which analyzes VM and node utilization, IOPS, CPU consumption, memory usage, storage capacity and infrastructure configuration. A free edition retains three days of historical data, while paid packages extend the history to three months, six months or one year. Customers using TCC and Dedicated Proxmox Server receive access to the short-term edition as part of those services.

Privacy and infrastructure control are important parts of the company's technical model. Tuxis maintains its own routers, switches, servers and storage and operates its infrastructure services without external subprocessors. This approach is particularly attractive to European organizations seeking to reduce dependency on large non-European hyperscale cloud providers.

Tuxis B.V. and the Tuxis-1 datacenter operate under ISO 27001 certification, while Tuxis-1 also holds a separate Borg alarm certificate.
