Founded in 2004, Tophost is an Italian domain registrar and shared hosting provider headquartered in Rome. The company joined DHH in 2015 and continues to operate as a specialized hosting brand for the Italian market. Its expansion included the acquisition of MisterDomain in January 2023 for €700,000, adding more than 10,000 customers and approximately 31,000 managed domains to the business.

Tophost serves more than 50,000 customers and manages over 137,000 active domains. Its service range is deliberately compact, concentrating on domain registration, professional email, Linux shared hosting, WordPress hosting and entry-level e-commerce hosting. VPS, dedicated servers, reseller packages and colocation services are not part of the current catalog.

Topname is intended primarily for domain registration, professional email, redirects and simple static websites. It includes one domain, 1 GB of combined web and email storage, unlimited traffic, one mailbox and unlimited aliases. PHP and MySQL are not included, making this package unsuitable for WordPress or other database-driven applications.

Topweb is the entry-level shared hosting plan. It includes one domain, 20 GB of SSD storage, unlimited traffic, 30 email accounts and four MySQL 5.7 databases with 500 MB of combined database capacity. Selectable PHP versions, HTTPS, HTTP/2 and one-click WordPress installation make it suitable for personal websites, blogs and smaller business projects.

Topweb Plus increases the available storage to 30 GB and includes 50 email accounts, six MySQL 8 databases with 1 GB of combined database space, PHP-FastCGI, IonCube Loader and up to 256 MB of PHP memory. Unlimited third-level domains are also supported. This configuration is better suited to professional WordPress, Joomla and Drupal websites, as well as lighter WooCommerce installations.

Topweb Ultra is the most capable shared hosting package in the range. It includes 50 GB of SSD storage, 50 email accounts, six MySQL 8 databases with 2 GB of combined capacity, PHP-FPM, a dedicated PHP process pool, OPcache, up to 512 MB of PHP memory and a dedicated Redis instance. These resources provide a stronger foundation for demanding WordPress websites, WooCommerce stores and PrestaShop projects, although the environment remains shared hosting rather than a virtual server.

A domain remains included for the duration of the hosting subscription. Supported extensions include .it, .eu, .com, .net, .org, .info and .biz, along with numerous Italian geographical extensions. Existing domains can also be transferred to Tophost.

Professional email is included with every package. Depending on the selected plan, customers receive between one and 50 mailboxes, together with aliases, webmail, filters, autoresponders, antivirus protection and antispam filtering. Email storage operates on redundant SAN and SSD infrastructure.

Free SSL certificates can be activated through the control panel, including with Topname. Activation normally requires several hours. HTTPS protection applies to the primary domain, while separate certificates for third-level subdomains are not included in the standard configuration.

Automated backup and Autofix protection are optional services. The backup system can restore website files, databases and email directly into the hosting space. Autofix scans hosting accounts for malware, compromised files and outdated CMS installations, attempts automated repairs and retains copies of modified files so that changes can be reversed when necessary.

The website, customer area and documentation are primarily available in Italian. A complete English storefront does not exist. Prices are displayed in euros, making the service particularly convenient for customers and businesses operating in Italy.
